“Sacrifice” – When the director of a Brooklyn migrant center is abducted and held hostage along with his wife, the team must work quickly to meet the demands of their kidnapper. Also, Maggie picks Jessica’s brain about motherhood, on FBI, Tuesday, March 19 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*. Let’s talk about Tuesday night’s TV!

FBI: Well, I never want anything to happen to Maggie, but that was a damn good episode. The “grieving parent takes someone else hostage” trope is done frequently on procedurals—and almost always ends with a main character offering themselves up in place of a hostage—but one of the hostages having a high-risk pregnancy certainly changed the stakes. I also appreciated that Maggie didn’t take the “easy” way out and actively tried to save the man holding her hostage at every opportunity. (And thank goodness it ended up having as happy an ending as possible.)

I’m intrigued to see where the show takes Maggie’s interest in motherhood. It’s extraordinarily rare for shows to be intentional about pregnancy (so frequently we get the “whoops, I’m pregnant, what do we do now?” storyline), but will they follow through?

THE VOICE: Reba stealing Justin & Jeremy Garcia was smart…she should be a good coach for them. And Chance playing up the drama before using his Playoff Pass on Nadège? Fantastic. They’re having fun with each other, which is translating well.

FBI: INTERNATIONAL: Not the point of the scene, but Scott’s office is cool. Probably terrifying when he makes it clear he wants privacy to talk to you, but pretty damn cool.

I feel bad for Powell, but I’m glad they didn’t just brush off the dangerous behavior he showcased. And, yeah, they liked him so they could have kept him back at HQ, but it was also very clear it didn’t work. The decision to transfer him made sense.

PASSWORD: Okay, Keke Palmer not being able to pronounce Mariska Hargitay’s name kiiiiiiilled me, especially since she was on SVU.

As someone who has never seen a minion movie, Fallon’s “banana” clue was perfect. And Chance was a great contestant!

FBI: MOST WANTED: When you’re planning to kidnap your own kid, I hope a good chunk of that ten million dollars was set aside for therapy!!

The weight of Corey has really been hanging over Remy…he hasn’t really seemed the same since he discovered his brother had a son. Will this be his norm for the foreseeable future?
