On Sunday, May 19, AMERICAN IDOL crowned its season 22 winner during the show’s three-hour season finale.

The top 3 contestants—Jack Blocker, Abi Carter, and Will Moseley—were mentored by Jon Bon Jovi and chose Bon Jovi songs to sing in the first round of performances. They then chose a second song that was inspired by their homes.

After those performances, and the live voting during the show, Abi and Will moved on to the final 2.

The duo each performed their new singles, hoping to sway over last-second voters. And when the final round of voting was done, host Ryan Seacrest announced the winner: Abi! (Notably, she received a platinum ticket.)

After her win, Abi sang a reprise of her audition song: “What Was I Made For?” by Billie Eilish. (Eilish sent in a video message for Abi earlier in finale, praising her performance of the song and sharing she was rooting for her.)

Do you think the right person won?
