It’s Thanksgiving on THE UNICORN—and the first one Wade (Walton Goggins) has hosted since his wife’s death.

To mark the occasion, Wade invites his late wife’s sister, Alison (Annie Mumolo) over—but what the group doesn’t realize is that she has a bit of a history with Delia (Michaela Watkins).

“Annie’s a Groundlings friend of mine, so I was really excited,” Watkins told reporters. “Delia and Allison have a little bit of a combustible relationship with each other. So it’s a little interesting as both of them think it’s pretty one sided.”

Wade goes through his own arc, and emotions get high over an unexpected source. “I think it’s safe to say that there’s a dish that becomes extremely relevant to the story,” Goggins teased. “And it’s Thanksgiving in America—that holiday, even in the best of times, can still dysfunctional. It can bring up a lot of things for a lot of different people. Very positive things and negative things…really good feelings and feelings of sadness.”

“The story that we are trying to tell is one of learning how to live again,” he continued. “And on the other side of any kind of loss, or any kind of difficult period in one’s life, you mark those occasions in a number of different ways and holidays are no exception.”

“It was a very, very emotional,” Watkins added. “Walton made us all cry.”

Of course, there’s a bit of a lighter element, as Ben (Omar Miller) attempts to deep fry a turkey. “Let’s just say we have a scare,” Miller said. “And possible fire situation. But overall, I have faith in Ben’s ability to cook and deliver for his friends. He’s getting tasked with making the turkey and that’s a tall order. [But] if you do go on YouTube, though, you will see a lot of very, very dangerous and scary fried turkey incidents.”
