SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE: Tom Hanks Reprises David S. Pumpkins

He’s back!

Tom Hanks made a guest appearance on the Saturday, October 29 episode Halloween episode of SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE and, naturally, reprised his beloved David S. Pumpkins character.

David S. Pumpkins was introduced in the 2016 sketch “Haunted Elevator,” as a couple went on a “100 Floors of Frights” ride, and encountered scary things…and the bizarre David S. Pumpkins. The character quickly became a fan-favorite, spawning an animated special in 2017, as well as another appearance later in the season.

This go-round, the sketch followed “Cellblock 666” and terrifying horror icons, including Michael Meyers and Freddy Krueger…and David S. Pumpkins, much to the confusion of the people on the ride.
