Kristin Chenoweth Returning for GLEE Season 2

July 13, 2010 by

The writer/creators of GLEE — Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan — were honored by the Paley Center for Media Monday night (July 12) and they spilled a season 2 spoiler: Kristin Chenoweth’s April Rhodes will be back for sure. Expect Chenoweth’s return to pop up early this fall, as Murphy says they’re beginning to write her episode now.

Cheno first appeared on GLEE not long after season 1 bowed, playing Will’s former high school crush who re-enrolled at McKinley and filled the empty New Directions spot left by an MIA Rachel. Her second appearance came this spring when April let the displaced New Directions singers use her rollerskating rink as a rehearsal space.

Now, as much as we love us some K.C., we’re a little worried about how they’ll bring the brilliant performer back once again. Because her first episode was strong, but her second episode was rather…meh. It felt to us like they rushed her character in, simply because they wanted more Cheno, not because the storyline had a burning need for more April.

But what do we know?

Maybe you enjoyed both of Kristin’s GLEE appearances.

Perhaps you’re super pumped to have April Rhodes back?

Typically I’d be upset at bringing in a guest character who isn’t needed to advance a storyline, but this is CHENO!!!!! She’s AMAZING!!!!! Whatever they have her to will be wonderful 🙂
