USA Renews PSYCH For Season 8

Good news for PSYCH fans: the wait for season 7 may have felt like eternity and a half (we still have two more months until it premieres), but the show has already been picked up for a season 8.
“BREAKING – Psych has been renewed for an 8th season — S7 starts Feb 2013 – details to come later,” Ted Linhart, SVP of Research at USA Network tweeted earlier tonight.
When additional details come out — how long the season will be, if it will be the show’s last year, etc. — we’ll be sure to let you know.
Update (12/20): Season 8 will be eight episodes, per Linhart’s newest tweet…which does nothing to fuel speculation the show will end with the shortened season.

This is such incredible news for fans of Psych, and knowing that there is guaranteed to be a season 8 of Psych before season 7 even premieres excites my coworkers at DISH and I more than you can know! I can’t wait for more new episodes of Psych, but until then I am recording every episode that airs with DISH’s Hopper because it has 2,000 hours of storage available and I can re-watch any episode again and again!
