THE SIMPSONS to Air Fan-Made Pixel Opening Credits

February 13, 2015 by

simpsons-featured-2014Television fans can be insanely creative when it comes to showing their love for their favorite shows, and three THE SIMPSONS fans from Australia — artists/animators Paul Robertson and Ivan Dixon, and musician Jeremy Dower — are now seeing their project get incorporated into the show.

The three men recreated THE SIMPSONS’ opening sequence using pixel art, and the video went viral. THE SIMPSONS producers reached out to the men, and now those opening credits will be used before this Sunday’s brand new episode.

“This job was already great; now people are doing the work for us,” THE SIMPSONS showrunner Al Jean joked in a statement. “Thanks for 90 brilliant seconds Ivan, Paul and Jeremy.”

Did you miss the video when it went viral and can’t wait until Sunday to check it out? Watch it now…

THE SIMPSONS airs Sundays at 8 PM.
