CBS has launched a new scripted series each of the past few summers (UNDER THE DOME — based off the Stephen King book — just kicked off its third season, while EXTANT’s second season is around the corner), and for its 2015 freshman installment, the network went to another property based off a best-seller: James Patterson’s ZOO.

Just like the book, the television series follows the puzzling — and dangerous — shift in animal behavior, as collectively they turn increasingly aggressive…and deadly. But while some of the television characters share the same names as the book characters, they exist in two separate worlds.

To get some more insight into the new series, I spoke with ZOO co-creator Jeff Pinkner (who co-wrote the pilot with co-creators Josh Appelbaum, André Nemec, and Scott Rosenberg)…

PERSON OF INTEREST and ELEMENTARY  are hitting syndication this fall (and POI will be streaming on Netflix, while ELEMENTARY will stream on Hulu). To celebrate the CBS dramas joining WGN America’s lineup, WGN put together this delightful promo of the shows’ stars (Michael Emerson, Jim Caviezel, Jonny Lee Miller, and Lucy Liu) comparing the two crime-solving teams…to a hilariously awkward extent.

Comments Off on RECTIFY Exclusive Videos: Aden Young and Abigail Spencer Answer Fan Questions

RECTIFY — the beautiful and haunting Sundance TV series which follows the journey of Daniel, a man who was locked up (and on death row) for nearly two decades, and his re-entry into the world — is returning for its third season on Thursday, July 9th. And if you haven’t seen this show (and you should), in addition to the first two seasons being available on Netflix right now, Sundance TV will be replaying the entire series starting Saturday, July 4th at 2 PM.

And in the meantime, a bit of lighter, adorable fun: RECTIFY stars Aden Young (Daniel) and Abigail Spencer (Amantha) answered fan questions about their characters in these exclusive videos. Wondering who Young’s favorite mentor for Daniel is (spoiler alert: it’s not any of the choices he’s given), and where Spencer learned to roller skate?

Comments Off on EMPIRE: Watch the Cast Perform ‘No Apologies,’ ‘Drip Drop,’ and ‘You’re So Beautiful’ at the BET Awards

The cast of EMPIRE hit the BET Awards stage on Sunday night to perform a medley of season 1 hits. And if, somehow, the show’s catchy songs had managed to get out of your head, odds are good this performance will put them back in there for another few weeks.

(And on a more meaningful note, EMPIRE star Jussie Smollett delivered a moving — mid-song — message about the recent SCOTUS decision in favor of marriage equality.)

Miss the performance? Check it out!

SLEEPY HOLLOW won’t be making the trek to Comic-Con this year, a rep for the show has confirmed.

While this is, understandably, a disappointing turn for fans of the show, the reason they won’t be making the trip is a good one: production is starting a bit earlier than planned. (SLEEPY HOLLOW’s third season kicks off on Fox on Thursday, October 1st.)

Comments Off on AQUARIUS: NBC Picks Up Season 2

NBC has picked up a second season of the David Duchovny-led drama, AQUARIUS.

AQUARIUS showrunner John McNamara broke the news on Twitter.

“With its riveting drama and innovative release strategy, ‘Aquarius’ has excited the critics, hooked millions of viewers and energized our summer,” said Jennifer Salke, President, NBC Entertainment, in a statement. “It’s no secret that the way people watch television is evolving, so we took a unique approach to how we delivered ‘Aquarius’ and it’s driven some record numbers for NBC Digital and helped us reach viewers who might have otherwise overlooked a great summer drama.”

AQUARIUS is currently airing Thursdays at 9 PM on NBC, and also was part of an unusual experiment by the network: after the two-hour premiere event aired, NBC made the entire first season available online and on VOD.
