The Office Thursday on Give Me My Remote

April 26, 2007 by

Cast of THE OFFICE

It’s starting to really sink in. After tonight, we only have 3 new episodes of The Office. I’m actually getting a bit nervous. I’m not sure anything can top last season’s finale, but what if it comes close? What if I wish yet another summer away waiting for the return of the show in September? Well, I guess I’m getting a bit ahead of myself. Let’s concentrate on tonight’s all new episode!!

As always, check back throughout the day for Office Thursday updates. And if you have Office gossip of your own, please feel free to meet me at the watercooler to discuss 😉

“Let’s do this…”

LIVE Office Chat TONIGHT…

The Office ChatSo this is going to be an interesting chat for me tonight. Since I’m on the West Coast I’m going to be watching the East Coast airing of the episode on my Slingbox. So the chat it on! Most likely I’m going to be in the San Francisco airport conducting the chat from a Starbucks or something as I have to catch a flight to LA tonight, but we should be all good. I hope to see some newbies here. And I wish I had some cupcakes or jellybeans to share with the cast to get them to join us tonight…oh well. As always, I’m looking forward to watching the show with YOU. Click here to set a reminder for the Office chat.

Tonight on The Office…
The Office, Product Recall“Product Recall” (8:30/7:30 c)
The office is in crisis mode after a large shipment of Dunder-Mifflin paper is accidentally sent out with an obscene watermark. Michael tries to manage the media with an impromptu press conference. Jim and Andy try to calm the high school principal who has sent out prom invites on the affected stationery.

There are some preview clips available for tonight’s episode.

Q&A Time with John Krasinki & Ed Helms…
John Krasinski and Ed HelmsIn tonight’s episode, we get to see Big Tuna and Drew team up to (hopefully) save the day. The real life Jim and Andy were both featured in short Q&As this week, so I thought it was only fitting that we learn a little more about these guys.

John Krasinski
The Q&A: John Krasinski from Entertainment Weekly

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: How does it feel to board the Shrek train?
JOHN KRASINSKI: Well, it’s a tiny little franchise that I think is really going to catch on. It’s gonna be a big deal for DreamWorks. Seriously, it’s a blast. As a kid I always wanted to be a cartoon more than anything else. And I got my chance.

But you had a small voice part in Doogal, didn’t you?
Dammit! You found out. But I have a feeling that Shrek might do a little better.

So what’s the deal with Lancelot?
Well, here’s what happens: Shrek is asked to be King of Far Far Away and he doesn’t want to be, so they have to go to the next closest heir, which is Fiona’s cousin Artie.

But he’s a teenager, right?
He’s still in high school. It’s basically The Sword and the Stone meets Breakfast Club. And Lancelot is a jerk. He’s the jock who thinks he’s the hottest thing since fire.

But you’ve always played the nice guy.
It’s all a front. I’m really a pompous ass.

Ed Helms Q&A from US Weekly

Ed Helms - US WeeklyDon’t be scared by Ed Helms. Although his alter ego, Andy, just competed anger-management classes on NBC’s hit comedy The Office, off-screen, the Atlanta native plays the banjo and is a formed Daily Show contributor. The single actor, 33, debrief US.

Q: So is Andy cured?
He believes he is! There was a lot of meditation, stuffed animal, scented candles and using punching bags to release tension in therapy.

W: Your banjo group, The Lonesome Trio, has a cult following. Will you tour this summer?
I’m actually filming a comedy with Eddie Murphy this summer called Starship Dave. Besides, a tour is hard to schedule. We like to just get together and play.

Steve Carell Doesn’t Want to be Serious…
Steve Carell as Michael Scott on The OfficeThe Hollywood Reporter recently got to sit down with Steve Carell to ask him about his career, what it’s like to work with other great comedians like Will Ferrell and Jim Carrey, and how he juggles The Office with his burgeoning film career. And is Steve Carell ready to take the next step as an actor and do….porn? (Read more)

From the desk of Meredith Palmer…
Kate Flannery (Meredith Palmer) on The OfficeThis week our favorite drunk red head talks about filming what she thinks might be the funniest Office scene she has ever witnessed (slight spoiler). Kate gives an update on what she’s been doing since her break from filming the show as well a little gossip on her love life and her awesome boyfriend (whom I met briefly and was very sweet). (Kate’s Blog) Oh and Kate gives a shout out to OfficeTally.com which is totally dawesome!

Pretty Women,Walking Down the Street…
Jenna Fischer and Rashida Jones Rashida Jones and Jenna Fischer are gorgeous – not news to Office fans (or Jim Halpert). Jenna and Rashida’s inner and outer beauties are being celebrated as two of the Most Beautiful People in 2007 by People Magazine. Rashida is featured in a section that shows just how beautiful women are without makeup, while Jenna is featured in a short video talking about what makes her feel most beautiful (and the response is SO Jenna…love that girl).

Questions for Angela and Brian…

As I mentioned yesterday, I’m going to get a little face time with Angela Kinsey (Angela) and Brian Baumgartner (Kevin) tomorrow. I don’t think I’ll have a ton of time, but I’m SOOOOO excited to see them again. I’m hoping to get a picture with Angela since I didn’t get one during my visit to the set of The Office. If you have any questions you’d like me to ask Angela or Brian email me TODAY (info[at]givememyremote[dot]com)

A Little Housekeeping…

  • WARNING: The Office’s ratings are bigger than they appear (that’s what she said). It’s true, The Office has much higher ratings when you factor in DVR viewings. Very interesting read. (The Hollywood Reporter)
  • OFFICE FANS UNITE: The Office is up for TWO Webby Awards. It’s time to get organized Dunder Mifflinites – voting ends TOMORROW!! (NBC.com/TheOffice)

The Office Video(s) of the Week…
I’ve seen this first video floating around for some time now, and thought it was a bit odd. But I’ve come to find the genius in it and now I can’t help but laugh my ass of every time I watch it. The lyrics actually are a nice match for the JAM storyline (oddly enough).

The second video is about as far opposite of the first video as you can get. Phil de Vellis gained notoriety by creating the Hilary Rodham Clinton mash-up “Big Sister“. Now he’s back and going after World Bank Leader Paul Wolfowitz. And if you’re going to take down someone with that amount of power you have to turn to the employees of Dunder Mifflin for a little help.

Yay! Thursday is here! And a new episode of The Office sounds like the perfect cure for a spring flu 🙁 . Looking forward to it! Thanks for another great installment of OT. Can’t think of any witty questions for Angela and Brian right now. Just tell Angela that I think I lover her…no wait, don’t…she might find that a little creepy. Have a great day everyone!

  4. Clare on April 26th, 2007 11:10 am

K, I soooo didn’t mean to say lover her…I meant love her. SERIOUSLY creepy….

I always look forward to Office Thursday – thanks GMMR! I’m really not sure what I’m going to do over the summer without any new episodes!

I’ll try my best to join you all on the chat tonight, but am not sure where I’ll be watching the show… it looks like it’ll be a great episode and I’m really looking forward to seeing Jim & Andy trying to work together! I’ve really started to become a huge Ed Helms fan and I loved that little Q & A with him (and John’s too, of course) – I’m glad that both he and John are getting some great opportunities outside of The Office and that Ed will continue to be on the show next season.

And by the way, I absolutely love that “His Cheeseburger” fanvid – Karen as the half price breakfast special is defintely a unique way of looking at the whole “love triangle! 😉

dang. I get beat out by Tanster, et. al., for first comment. Poo 🙁

    I love Office Thursdays!

Have fun with Angela and Brian! I love the Cheesburger video, too. She’s his cheesburger!

  8. Becky_J on April 26th, 2007 12:16 pm

OMG that cheeseburger video was hilarious!!! I can’t believe how the lyrics fit so perfectly! What a great find, Kath. Thanks for sharing. If Pam is a cheeseburger and Karen is Denny’s, what does that make Michael Scott? The Burger King? hehe

  9. Mannie on April 26th, 2007 12:16 pm

I loved the credits at the end of His Cheeseburger. My brother would love to have clothes made out of duct tape!

  10. Carly on April 26th, 2007 1:25 pm

    that video. is pure genius.

  11. Snow on April 26th, 2007 1:40 pm

His Cheeseburger was so cute and clever! I’ve heard that song a million times as my kids were in a major VeggieTales phase that lasted several years. But it never made me think of Jim and Pam! It really fit perfectly!

  12. jenintx on April 26th, 2007 2:07 pm

Yeah, the Cheeseburger vid is well done and oddly…hypnotizing? I keep watching it over and over. Maybe I just like Karen being compared to a second rate dining establishment(not to besmirch Denny’s, hellooo moons over my hammy) I love all these in jokes that are created by fan vids/lit/art, ect. My sister loves the Office, but if I told her Pam was Jim’s cheeseburger, she would totally be all WTF? are you talking about…and then she would tell me I need to leave the house more often.

  13. Rachael on April 26th, 2007 2:31 pm

That Cheeseburger video is seriously the cutest! I love the end, “Cheeseburger, I love youuuuuuuuu!” Adorable! 🙂

  14. Give Me My Remote on April 26th, 2007 2:41 pm

OMG I can’t get the damn CHEESEBURGER song out of my head!!!

  15. Jim "Really wants a cheeseburger now" Mosby on April 26th, 2007 3:18 pm

my oh my, that cheeseburger video disturbs me…yet….I must admit, i’ve heard the song before 🙁

  16. Jo on April 26th, 2007 3:40 pm

Wow. Just wow. You gotta love the genius that floats around youtube. Hmm, at least now i know what i want for dinner.

The Steve Carell interview made me love him even more he so not a pretentious actor. But I wonder if it was a subtle diss to JKras since he is doing the cliche of directing and wanting to be a serious actor.
