Save Everwood

Listen closely and you might just hear the faintest of heartbeats coming from the dying Everwood. TheTVAddict.com is reporting that his contacts over at EverwoodOnline.com are saying that there is a slight chance that our beloved show might not be ending as planned this Monday.

…because of the outpouring of interest in the show, from the fans and the critics; CW has reopened talks of renewing Everwood as of Tuesday (yesterday).

2005-2006 TCA Nominations

The Television Critics have spoken, and ironically enough, I like what they have to say. Earlier today the 2005-2006 nominations for the Television Critics Association awards were annouced and some of Give Me My Remote’s favorites were honored with noms. These nominations were so good that it was uber-difficult for me to pick my fave in each category. I mean…super hard. Really how am I suppose to choose between Grey’s Anatomy and The Office for Program of the Year? who do I betray? My head or my heart.

PROGRAM OF THE YEAR
Grey’s Anatomy (ABC)
Lost (ABC)
The Office (NBC)
The Sopranos (HBO)
24 (Fox)

INDIVIDUAL ACHIEVEMENT IN DRAMA

Alan Alda (The West Wing)
James Gandolfini (The Sopranos)
Hugh Laurie (House)
Kiefer Sutherland (24)
Kyra Sedgwick (The Closer)

INDIVIDUAL ACHIEVEMENT IN COMEDY
Steve Carell (The Office)
Stephen Colbert (The Colbert Report)
Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls)
Jason Lee (My Name Is Earl)
Jon Stewart (The Daily Show with Jon Stewart)

OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN COMEDY
The Daily Show (Comedy Central)
Everybody Hates Chris (UPN)
My Name Is Earl (NBC)
The Office (NBC)
Scrubs (NBC)

OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN DRAMA

Grey’s Anatomy (ABC)
House (Fox)
Lost (ABC)
The Sopranos (HBO)
24 (Fox)

OUTSTANDING NEW PROGRAM OF THE YEAR
Big Love (HBO)
The Colbert Report (Comedy Central)
Everybody Hates Chris (UPN)
My Name Is Earl (NBC)
Prison Break (Fox)

My random thoughts…

Um, did you notice that The Office is the ONLY comedy nominated for Program of the Year??? Take that TVGuide.com and your stupid Dream Emmy Ballot

MAD props must go to Lauren Graham for not only getting nominated (Gilmore Girls is too often overlooked), but nomiated for your comedy skills….and being the ONLY woman in the category against those comedy heavyweights. You go Lorelai!!

Speaking of Outstanding Achievement in Comedy, how about the combo of Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart? My Daily Show boys…ah, we knew you when.

Finally, you don’t know the anguish I felt choosing Grey’s Anatomy over my beloved The Office. It physcially hurt to highlight the name and hit CTRL B. I’m still not convinced that I made the right choice, but I figured since Grey’s was one hour and The Office only a half hour show, I had to go with Grey’s because they kept me addicted for double the amount of time. I’m sorry Office-ianados…I really am.

jim_logan_moving.jpgHey guys I am moving into a new place in the morning & I’ve hardly packed, so sorry for the lack of updates.  Hopefully my internet will be installed in my new place tomorrow and I will be back up and running.  Until then, why don’t you head over to the GMMR Forums, meet some new people and chat it up about all things TV.

P.S. LC’s Laguna Beach spinoff, The Hills, premieres tonight on MTV.  I can’t believe I don’t have more time to talk about how excited I am for the show.  Seriously, if it’s half as mind numbingly addictive as Laguna I will be a happy girl. I’m Proud to be a Laguna Bitch!!

Lost’s Michelle Rodriguez Out of Jail…Again

Michelle Rodriguez

What does Michelle Rodriguez have to do to stay in jail? The former Lost star has elluded a lenghty jail stay for the second time in 2 months. Rodriguez was released from a Los Angeles County jail on Thursday after serving only 4 hours and 20 minutes of a 2-month jail sentence stemming from a DUI parole violation last December.

Just this past April, Rodriguez was sentenced to five days in an Oahu jail for her December 1, 2005, DUI arrest on the island where the actress was filming Lost. She served just 65 hours because the time she’d spent in custody after her arrest counted toward her sentence.

Rainn Wilson in “My Super Ex-Girlfriend” (Watch Trailer)

Rainn Wilson, My Super Ex-Girlfriend

OK so I know this is not technically TV new since the movie My Super Ex-Girlfriend stars Rainn Wilson who plays Dwight Schrute on The Office I decided that it qualified.  Based on the trailer, it seems that Rainn has a great part, and I can’t wait to see it. The movie is set to hit theaters on July 21st.

Denis Leary Rescue Me

The critically acclamied Rescue Me returns tonight for it’s third season at 10pm(est) on FX. I’ve seen a few episodes of this show here and there and have really liked what I’ve seen. I just set up a “season pass” on TiVo so I will definitely be watching it this season. To get you excited about tonight’s show here are a few Rescue Me reports and interview.

If there are any dieheard Rescue Me fans out there that are interested in writing weekly episode recaps for GMMR, please email me.

Rare John Krasinski Video – Behind the Scenes of “Jarhead”

I’m going out on a limb and calling this a rare John Krasinski video, because hell if I ain’t seen it, then I’d venture to guess most of you haven’t either. You can’t IMAGINE how psyched I was to come across this tonight.

So here’s the deal. Jocko Sims, interviewed “day players” John Krasinski and Kurt Larson in their trailer during the filming of Jarhead. Kurt and John talk about what it’s like to be a “day player” and their huge influence on director Sam Mendes and his war film. This is pretty damn funny, dare I say, awesome. It’s not Jim Halpert, it’s John Krasinski…in fatigues…doing a British accent…and occasionally swearing….and yes, I’m officially hot and bothered.

The Office – Closing Time

Since you aren’t at your office today, I thought I would invite you into my favorite Office.

Thanks to Agent Scarn for another great video.

Tweener & Jessica Simpson Connection

Lane GarrisonLane Garrison, who plays Tweener on Prison Break, credits Jessica & Ashlee Simpson’s dad, Joe, with keeping him out of prison during his teen years. Before Joe Simpson became Jess & Ashlee’s creepy manager he was a pastor in Texas, and when Garrison fell into some trouble with stealing during his teen years, it was Joe and his family who took Lane in.

“He took me into his house before Jessica was this gigantic pop star and let me live there.  Otherwise, I really would be in prison, so I’m really grateful to him.” – said Garrison

Hmmm, you have to wonder if Jessica & Lane ever shared a late night bowl of ice cream in the Simpson kitchen.  And yes, that’s what the kids are callling it these days. Even if they didn’t, let’s start that rumor.

Veronica Mars, Prison Break, The Office, Gilmore Girls & More

Kristin Veitch

Kristin Veitch’s life doesn’t suck.  The resident TV Diva of E! Online had the opportunity to interview some of today’s hottest leading men during the recent network upfronts in NYC.  Last week I posted her fab interview with John Krasinski, but this week’s she’s back with more.

Click here to head over to Kristin’s weekly column in which you can find the links to her interviews with Prison Break’s Wentworth Miller, ER’s John Stamos, Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles & Jared Padalecki, the cast of Gilmore Girls, and finally Veronica Mars stars Enrico Colantoni & Jason Dohring.

And listen up ladies…I dare you not to swoon when Jason looks directly into Kristin’s eyes for his “epic” declaration.  Come on, I dare ya.  Oh and I love that these videos were taken the same day I was lucky enough to chat with Jason Dohring and Enrico Colantoni...see, same clothes.

Clay Aiken in American Idol Finale…Um, Awkward

May 25, 2006 by
Filed under American Idol, American Idol Recap

I’ve been dying for my site to come back up because I have been dying to share this video with you.  If you read my American Idol Season Finale recap from last night, you may have noticed that I had a rather strong reaction to Clay Aiken’s performance.  I was looking foward to it all evening and then to have that AI-reject ruin it…I was pissed.

But alas, it’s a new day, and after watching the following clip, oh about 200 times, I have come to love the moment.  I can only imagine how high this would rank of The Sports Guy Unitentional Comedy scale.  The way the guy reacts when he sees Clay is one thing, but the fact that he kept singing along…classic!! It took forever for Seacrest to lure him off the stage so Clay could sing, and why didn’t someone turn off his mic?  Oh man…high comedy!!

Clay Aiken is nothing if he ain’t a Diva, so I’m sure he was none to pleased with that performance.  Then again, Clay works closely with the mentally challenged, and there is a strong possibility that this guy had some issues.  I feel bad that they exploited him in this way, but then again, I’m still laughing.
