I Need a Topic…Any Topic

June 20, 2006 by

Do you guys have any TV news you want to share? How about a bit of gossip on your favorite TV stars? Maybe an interesting article you’ve read? Why don’t you send it my way?

With the traditional TV season on hiatus, news from our favorite shows is scarce. So since I’ve been crazy busy with my real job, I’d love if YOU can help be the GMMR bloggers.

If you have something interesting you want to share, please click here to email me. And if you have an opinion that you want to discuss about TV in general or your favorite show, feel free to write a post, and it might just show up here on GMMR.

Did you guys check out the link on the right hand side of the page to TV Guide’s new show Square Off? It looks really good and I can’t wait to check it out on Saturday. Just the kind of shows us TV addicts love.
Meanwhile, I might as well pimp the Give Me My Remote Online Store. Hey, a girl has to got to make a living, right? If you ever have any ideas for new t-shirts, make sure to let me know.

For some reason, I can totally picture Lorelai Gilmore wearing a “Weevil is my homeboy” shirt. I would laugh pretty hard at that. Then you would have cool, yet subtle, shoutout to VM.

Okay, I may not be one of the biggest American Kareoke fan around, but there is one topic me and my friends have been debating for months: In Kelly Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone” she says “I even fell for that stupid love song.” And here’s the discussion, what, in fact, is the stupid love song she fell for. (My money’s on Dave Matthews Band’s Crash into Me)

  3. GMMR on June 20th, 2006 5:29 pm

Ok, first off I know this is stupid, BUT, every time Kelly sings this song I can’t help but think she is talking about Justin Guarini, whom she was rumored to have dated. It’s absolutely not true, but I always think it. Kelly didn’t even write the song. It was actually written for Christina aguilera, but she didn’t have room on her album.

  4. Jo on June 20th, 2006 5:55 pm

I can’t even imagine Christina singing “Since U Been Gone.” that’s wild. That Kelly’s album is awesome. I’m not a huge idol person, but I’m going to see her in concert next month. Speaking of Christina, her new single is fantastic. Definitely a song to jam out to in the car.

  5. TheNextKristin on June 21st, 2006 7:44 pm

Didn’t Avril write Since U Been Gone?

    I don’t know if I already made this T-shirt suggestion, but… Scrantonicity.

We could make it look like a real rock-band shirt! GMMR, I already got bored and tested out how “Scrantonicity” looks in a variety of rock and roll-inspired fonts. Let me know and I’ll hook you up!

  6. Scott on June 21st, 2006 9:03 pm

Yeah, for the arguement, we totally ignore the whole she didn’t write it thing. It’s less fun trying to figure out what a 40-year old dude was thing about.

And Avril Lavigne wrote Clarkson’s Breakaway, um, not that I knew that or anything… How about them Astros?

  7. Becky on June 21st, 2006 11:19 pm

Veering from the Kelly debate, youtube.com has a trailer for Adam Brody’s new movie, “In the Land of Women”, also starring Meg Ryan.
It looks like a good tear-jerker with a great soundtrack. I think it’ll be a big step up for Adam’s movie career.
And he looks super cute with his glasses!

  8. TheNextKristin on June 24th, 2006 3:07 pm

Oh, and to actually answer GMMR’s original question – I got a thread going on it, I think in TV News.

  9. michael on June 26th, 2006 2:08 pm

Well, not to be a biatch but if your looking for news, there is that Closer promo thing I emailed you.

As for Kelly Clarkson’s Breakaway album, yes, it rocks. It’s the best album * of the last 2 or 3 years. Avril Lavigne did indeed write “Breakaway” but I’m not entirely sure about “Since U Been Gone” being written for Christina Aguilerra. I know that a good bit of Kelly’s cd was co-written by the guitarists of the band Evanescence.

Wanna get really freaked out? What if she was singing about Simon? hehe….

I started this thread to evaluate public available web proxies:

    Which are really anonymous?

Which can unblock facebook, myspace etc, in other words: are fresh ?

    Which would you recommend?

    Thanks for your help,

P.S.: In my land, the freedom of speech is somehow limited, please give me a hint, if you have doubts about your recommendation.

Nothing seems to be easier than seeing someone whom you can help but not helping.
I suggest we start giving it a try. Give love to the ones that need it.
    God will appreciate it.

I’m looking for a LDS online dating site. I haven’t been able to find many. I’ve found some christian dating sites,
but I was wondering if there were any sites that were geared towards Later Day Saints religion. It’s hard to
find a lot of other LDS online daters wanting to chat – at least, I haven’t been able to. Does anyone know of any?

Like I said, I’ve tried some christian ones, but not really what I’m looking for. I really hope they’re out there!

If not a dating site, perhaps any type of chat or group related to LDS.
