Elisabeth Hasselbeck Freaks on “The View” & Babs Puts Her in Her Place

August 2, 2006 by

The craziness on The View continues.  Seriously, these women need to chill out. This morning the ladies are talking about the controversial “morning after pill” and the ultra-conservative Elisabeth Hasselbeck became very passionate about the the subject matter and Babs got a hold of the matter by putting Ms. Thang in her place.  Elisabeth wasn’t too happy to be called out by Barbara, and I thought she was going to cry.

This is The View after the commercial break.  See Elisabeth lived through the Star Jones fall out last month and knows she better kiss Barbara Walters ass to stay with the show.

P.S. NOOOOOO debating this issue in the comments.  You can talk about how Babs and Elisabeth acted but we  SO aren’t going there on GMMR 🙂

I never understood Elizabeth’s place on ‘The View’. I know they want a young voice to get young viewers and I fall into that category, but she bugs the crap out of me. She is a horrible interviewer and she is never taken seriously by the rest of the women. I say clear her out, keep Joy, add Rosie, and find a new…interesting…younger co-host. Though I think I would take her over Kelly Ripa anyday.

Well, she was more articulate about her point than she usually is… Not that that means a lot. I don’t like her, but I actually didn’t really think she really flew off the handle in any way. She tends to be set in her ideas, which is certainly not something conducive to discussion, I agree.

I watched the show and I though Elizabeth was repeating the same thing over and over. First of all, it’s clear she does not know how this pill works. Secondly, when Barbara was trying to calm her down and get some order, Miss Thang was acting like a snotty brat and answering back. How old is she 12? She sure was acting like it, especiall when Joy pointed out that she was contradicting herself. Let’s hope her days are numbered. I can’t wait till Rosie gets there. If Elizabeth was afraid of Star, she better prepare herself for Rosie. Love it.

I don’t watch the View, so I don’t know how “heated” the conversations usually get on the show, but I was surprised that Barbara felt Elisabeth’s passion was too much. It seemed to me she articulated her viewpoint very well.

I agree – I don’t think that Elizabeth’s passion was too much – there have been many more discussions where the debate was even hotter and no one says a peep about it. I think what happened was Elizabeth was the only one who presented that opinion and so the others painted her as ‘being over the top’ as a way to silence her. Geez, the show is called “the view” – let people present their views and don’t silence them in the name of political correctness.

Just to offer a man’s perspective on this divisive, yet important issue, I just want to say that I like Kelly Ripa. She’s perky.

I’ve seen her get way more “passionate” than that but it’s about time she got put in her place. I’m all for people having opinions, but they should be stated in less “fingernails against a chalkboard” type-manner. I really can’t stand her.

I wish they would put someone in who could debate Rosie better every one applauds her cause she is a big mouth for the libs and the media. and the people who watch the show don’t know any better.I turn it on to see what all the fuss was about. but was missing rush ! and he is way above all of them. lets have a good debate with a more “knowledgeable person” oh but of course we couldn’t do that cause then Rosie would be put in her place and cry instead Elizabeth, but if she is all we have good for her to stand up to the rest of the hens
