The Office Thursday on Give Me My Remote

The Cast of The Office Gets Lost

Thursday – my favorite day of the week. And time for a little tradition we have hear at GiveMeMyRemote.com called “Office Thursdays”. This is when I try to catch you up on all the latest Office gossip. Y’all know The Office is my favorite show, and if I’m not careful I could be a few posts away from making this an Office fansite. I try to keep some of the best stuff for my Thursday posts. But by the time Thursdays roll around I feel like some of this is already old news. What do you think? Should we keep Office Thursdays going?

Make sure to check back throughout the day for more Office news. But for now, one we go…

This Week on The Office…
The Office - The InitiationYahooTV has 3 clips from this week’s episode entitled “The Initiation”. I have absolutely NO self control. I promised myself all week that I was going to avoid the Yahoo clips. Yeah, I lasted about 10 minutes. Damn you Yahoo! So between those three scenes, and the one that was featured before John Krasinski’s Ellen interview, I feel like I’ve already seen the whole show. Ok, I’m being a bit dramatic, but still. (Yahoo TV Clips)

Meredith Blogs and We Love Her For It….
Kate FlanneryEach and every Thursday Kate Flannery gives us the inside scoop on all things Dunder Mifflin. Not just what’s happening on set, but also a glimpse into what it’s like to be an actress on the BEST comedy on TV. This week is no exception, check out Kate’s TV Guide blog and learn what it’s really like in those SWAG suites, as well as what BJ Novak does while on set. (Kate’s TV Guide Blog)

A special thanks to Kate for giving GiveMeMyRemote.com a shout out in her blog. Make sure you leave her a comment over at TV Guide and thank her on behalf of GMMR.

“Anyway, I have a few more Office fan websites for you to checkout. I’ve mentioned before NorthernAttack.com, but please checkout Givememyremote.com. (It’s awesome.)…”

Angela Kinsey Fan Club…
Angela KinseyIf you are a regular GMMR reader then you know how much I adore Angela Kinsey. She seems to sweet, so nice and a world away from the”hot Christian chick” she plays on the show. That’s why I was so giddy to stumble across this TV Guide Q&A with her this morning. (Q&A with Angela Kinsey)
Another reason I love Ang, she’s SO good to her fans. Click here to listen to a message she left for fans on OfficeTally.com.

Jenna & John – in style in InStyle
Jenna Fischer & John KrasinskiBoth Jenna and John are featured in InStyle magazine’s “What’s Hot” section. Find out who Jenna’s first celebrity crush was (same as mine by the way), and what desert would John take over the infamous jello? (Jenna in InStyle) (John in InStyle)

And make sure you check out the smokin’ hot pics of Jenna from Entertainment Weekly. Pam is pretty and all, but it still amazes me how they manage to downplay Jenna’s looks. Yeah, I have a bit of a girl crush, don’t you? (Jenna in EW)

Scranton, PA Loves The Office…
Scranton loves The Office The people of Scranton, PA don’t mind being the butt of the occasional joke, especially when the joke is coming from some of the sharpest and smartest comedy writers in the business today. Being the non-fictional town where the fictional Dunder Mifflin resides definitely has its perks. And the rumor is still out there that the cast is planning a trip to the actual Scranton to film a St. Patrick’s Day episode. If you need extras, I know a few bloggers that wouldn’t mind throwing on a little green for ya (even if it is whorish). (Scranton Meets “The Office”)

Why is Pam not with Jim?
Jim and Pam, The Office A question women around the world want to know. He’s sweet, adorable, funny, and he’s her lobster. So what’s keeping them apart. Well check out Jenna Fischer’s latest MySpace blog, and let her explain. Here’s a little taste:

“People want to know why she hasn’t called Jim all this time but you have to look at it realistically…she just got out of a 10 year relationship with her high school sweetheart. When she called off the wedding, Jim had already been living in Stamford. She has no idea what he is doing there. Maybe he has a girlfriend but even if he doesn’t, what are they going to do? Have a long distance romance? I’m sure she’s thought of it but it’s awkward. She’s not the type of person who takes a lot of initiative.”

SPOILER ALERT!!! Pics from “Diwali”…
In the November 2nd episode (“Diwali”) the kids leave the office and head out to experience some cultural diversity. Yeah, and we know how that worked out for them last time. JustJared.com has pics from the episode. And is that Pam flirting with another man? Let’s hope not. She’s got too much on her plate as it is 🙂 (“Diwali” sneek peek)

Steve Carell and Oscar Nunez are Animal Lovers…
I hope you all got a chance to check out the Night of Too Many Stars fundraiser that was on Comedy Central this past week. It was funny as all hell. One of the best skits of the night featured two of Dunder Mifflinites finest. Check out this hilarious clip featuring Steve Carell (Michael Scott) and Oscar Nunez (Oscar Martinez). Oh, and since Oscar is traveling with Gil in Europe for the next 3 months, this might be all we see of him for some time, so enjoy.

The Office LIVE Chat TONIGHT…
I missed last week’s LIVE Office chat over at BuddyTV.com, but GMMR reader and Office superfan, Ddker, was kind enough to fill in for me. But I’m back tonight and I’m sooo looking forward to watching “The Initiation” with you. If you’ve never come to our LIVE BuddyTV chats, check it out – it’s a fun new way to watch the episodes. And you never know who might just show up. CLICK HERE to set a reminder. And I hope to chat with you tomorrow night at 8pm EST.

The OC is coming back, and it’s going to be better than ever.  Ok, maybe not better than Season One, because really, can anything beat S1? But…the show is back and I am loving it.  I was lucky enough to get the first four episodes and I plan on talking to you about them SOON, but for now a little sneak peek of the premiere episode courtesy of FreeIndie.com.

Amanda Peets Preggs on Studio 60

Amanda Peet, Studio 60Life imitating art, uh scratch that and reverse it. E! Online’s Kristin Veitch is reporting that Amanda Peet’s real life pregnancy will in fact be written into the storyline of Studio 60. Check it out….

Yes, Ms. Jordan McDeere is gonna have a bun in the oven!

Wanna know who the daddy is? Well, interestingly enough, here’s what costar Bradley Whitford had to say on the subject: “I’m biologically capable of being a father. I am, in fact, a father. I’ve done all the research that one would need to do to create a child. I’ll leave it at that.”

And here’s the dishy part. The way in which we find out Amanda’s character Jordan is pregnant apparently mirrors a real-life scenario that went down on the set of Saturday Night Live!

Gilmore Girls Recap: ‘S Wonderful, ‘S Marvelous

Gilmore Girls Recap

Sometimes I wonder if Lauren Graham gets paid per word, and if so, why is she even working right now when she could be bathing in her money.  How does this woman memorize her dialogue? There’s so much and it’s so fast.  But I love it. And I love this show.  I’m more into Gilmore Girls this season than ever before. I think it’s the one-two punch of GG and Veronica Mars...thanks CW.  Now if you could only dump those insulting Aerie girls commercials…seriously…we HATE them.

Oh and I LOVE me some Lorelai and Chris (and yes, I fully expect to get killed in the comments…bring it)

Title: ‘S Wonderful, ‘S Marvelous
Original Airdate: 10/17/2066

Lorelai is getting out of Christopher’s car ranting about “Snakes on a Plane” because snakes do not belong on a plane. You think Lorelai? Turns out they’ve seen 5 movies at different theatres and different times and they’ve all sucked big time. Chris figures it must be “them”, they just can’t see movies together anymore. They kiss goodnight, for a very long time, so long I get uncomfortable and press fast forward on my Tivo. Finally Lorelai pulls away and they say their goodnights. They’re lots of longing there, on both sides, so I assume they haven’t consummated the relationship yet. Or you know, again.

Inside Rory is packing for Yale. Wait? It’s the end of the summer already. I did not see that coming. Her Mom comes in from her date with her Dad (what a weird sentence to type) and it’s very uncomfortable. They’re not sure what they should talk about and Rory offers to make herself scarce if Chris ever wants to come in after a date sometime. Again, weird. Lorelai shares that it’s all been really nice with Christopher and her daughter mentions Chris said the same thing. Lorelai starts playfully plying her daughter for information but Rory vows not to get into the middle of it. Ahhh Rory, you are the sane one.

The CW Cancels “Runaway”

The CW Cancels

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
The WRONG stuff

Looks like even all the old diehard NKOTBers couldn’t help Donnie Wahlberg make “Runaway” a runaway hit. The lowest-rated series among all five networks, “Runaway” is off the schedule effective immediately. The CW plans to announce plans for the show’s Sunday 9 p.m. slot sometime today.

Six episodes of the show had been delivered to the net; three had aired so far. Production had apparently halted on the show Tuesday, although Sony Pictures TV was unable to confirm whether it had been shut down for good.

“Runaway” aired for two weeks on Mondays, before moving to Sunday this week — where another low performance sealed its fate.

In its three weeks, “Runaway” averaged just 1.7 million viewers and a 0.7 rating/2 share among adults 18-49. Show starred Donnie Wahlberg as a man who takes his family on the run after being wrongfully accused of murder.

Anyone else think the Curse of the Pinecone is going to haunt Dawn Ostroff for the rest of her days?  Everwood at its weakest would have still be performing better than “Runaway”.  Oh well…Ostroff’s the one that has to sleep at night.

This is How the “So You Think You Can Dance” Kids Party – Toga! Toga!

My oh my I do declare!! It seems that So You Think You Can Dance contestant Travis Wall (or BF Travis as he’s known around these parts) recently updated his MySpace page to include some hot, and I do mean HOT pics of himself along with other SYTCD contestants from Ivan Koumaev’s toga-themed 19th birthday.

SYTYCD Toga Party

Looks like Jailbait Ivan knows how to celebrate – bronzed skin and half naked (ok more than half naked) chicks. Ducky & I have speculated that even with all the Mormons in the group, the SYTYCD contestants are a little dirrty. And that’s why we love them.

(the pics can get very big, so you might want to click on them twice to get the FULL affect)

No word yet from SYTYCD dancer Jessica on the Providence show, but I’ll be sure to let you know if and when we hear anything. For now enjoy. (Oh and if you are in the Boston area and hear some serious screaming, it might just be the Duckster)

How I Met Your Mother Recap

Man oh man – I’m falling behind with this little blog of mine. Jim Mosby was kind enough to recap How I Met Your Mother yesterday and here I am posting it a day later. Sorry all. If you missed this week’s ep then I’m sorry, because it was pretty damn funny. Check out Jim’s great recap.

Title: World’s Greatest Couple
Original airdate: October 16, 2006

The tale of two imaginary relationships. Marshall and another dude. Lily and…Barney? Who could imagine. That my friends is this week’s episode of How I Met Your Mother in a nutshell.

Ted and Robin dropped in on Lily’s new apartment with a fruit basket in hand. Ugh. Can you even call it an apartment when the toilet and bathtub are as close to the kitchen sink as her bed? And the same room no less?

Ted: Is that a toilet in your kitchen?
Robin: Or a stove in your bathroom?
Lily: (As she is pointing to the hideous contraption) Oh, that’s just not a stove, that’s a stoveincorator. A combination of a stove, an oven, sink, and refrigerator. Stoveinkorator. Isn’t that futuristic?
Ted: God, I hope not.

And things get worse when Ted pulls Lily’s bed down from it’s folded up position on the wall. The bed is bigger than the room. It doesn’t even sit flat on the floor because of the corner catching on her closet. Lily goes to open the fruit basket and they realize that some raccoon had already eaten part of it. Poor Lily. What a dump.

Heroes Recaps

So I’ve been a little on the fence about Heroes since its debut. I liked the idea of the show, but I wasn’t down with the pacing, and I was getting a little frustrated. Well, I am happy to report that I have jumped off the fence and on the proverbial bandwagon. I thought last night’s episode of Heroes rocked. So much happened to push the story along, and new sides of all the characters were revealed.

Lucky for us, Julie of TV and Sympathy fame, is back with her weekly Heroes recap. I can’t wait for you all to read it so we can chat about it. Feel free to leave comments, but also check out the LIVE GMMR 24/7 Chat and see if other fans of Heroes are online.

Title: Collision
Original Airdate: 10/16/2006

Matt awakens strapped to a bed in a blue room, wires monitoring him. Claire’s papa explains they had to drug him in order to “test his resting rate”. Matt argues that he’s no one, but Big Bad Dad says he’s “special.” Similarly special is BBD’s friend, menacingly serene bald black dude, who seems to be impeding Matt’s ability to hear thoughts. BBD tells Matt that he won’t remember anything by tomorrow. When Matt says “Claire?” BBD instructs his power-outage-causing pal to “go deep, then clean him out.” I’m guessing he’s not talking about playing football and poker.

On the poker-playing side, however, we have Hiro and Ando. Hiro tries to learn the very useful English phrase “You’re going to die in five weeks, then New York will explode” so he can properly communicate with Isaac.

Crossing their path in Las Vegas are Niki and Micah, taken into the office of Generic Evil Asian Lady. After a Logan-style forehead bump of bonding with his mom, Micah departs just in time for GEAL to ask Niki to perform the unsavory “favor” of occupying a certain visiting politician for a while. Do this, and things will be right with Mr. Linderman. Niki looks surprised, but after all the blood she’s washed out of her clothes, you’d think she’d be comfortable becoming someone’s dirty laundry.
