Let me be the first to congratulate Jordin Sparks on her AMERICAN IDOL win. Ok, so maybe the season finale isn’t for another week, but since Melinda Doolittle was booted tonight that leaves Sparks and Blake Lewis in the final two. As much as I love Blake and would love to see him win, Jordin has this one wrapped up. And if I’m wrong I will be the first one to apologize. It’s going to be a crazy season finale!!!
I’m still in shock that Melinda was voted off tonight, but she conducted herself with the grace she has since Day One. With the right producer Melinda has the ability to be up there with Celina, Barbara, Whitney and the other greats. I truly believe that. I think marketing Melinda is going to be the biggest struggle. Don’t make her sell out 19 Entertainment…she’s a class act and you should treat her as on.

I am still in shock too. I agree, now, that Jordin will win. Melinda was so far above everyone else with that amazing talent. I am so disappointed. 🙁 I was looking forward to a Jordin vs Melinda finale. Dont get me wrong, I think Jordin is wonderful and adorable. I just have really been rooting for her all season.
Shock really is the right word. I really thought it would be Melinda and Jordin in the final two and I thought Melinda would actually win it all. Guess I was wrong. Jordin gets my vote now!!
Ok, I’m watching Idol in Phoenix right now and came to GMMR to see if there was any more news on Jenna and I saw the Idol news. I totally forgot you were on the East Coast. Doh! They are barely showing Blake’s trip home. I am totally SHOCKED!!!!! I’m gonna go watch the Suns game now :o( I thought Melinda was going to win. I mean she should have won!!
Ugh…my many apologies. Sometimes I just write my reaction and forget that others haven’t seen it yet. So sorry for spoiling you.
I must be in the minority, because I don’t find Jordin to be all that original or even entertaining. Something about her seriously bugs me and has for several weeks. And I don’t think she’s been all that consistent. The only thing that could mildly redeem Melinda’s disappointing exit in my eyes is if Blake, who is at least original and outside the box, wins. But it’s not going to happen.
Oh, no problem at all GMMR! I just had to fight hard to keep it in while my hubby was watching so I ran upstairs to watch the game.
I think that while Jordin and Melinda were the best in pure vocal talent, that viewers like Blake’s originality and that he basically has the best chance to make a hit radio in today’s pop music arena. That being said, Melinda’s talent and consistency can’t be questioned, but when its her versus Jordin for votes, I feel like Jordin’s younger vibe just connected with audiences more. I’m pumped–I think its going to be a great finale, and much closer than GMMR is predicting!
I’m so upset about Melinda being kicked off that I’m not even going to watch the final. Jordin’s going to win now, there’s absolutely no contest. I’ve never thought that Blake should be in the top 3 and he definitely should have been the one going home tonight. The man is not comparable to Melinda and Jordin. Also, he’s not cute at all — if there would have been one of the guys to make it through, it should have been Phil. I would have even been happy with Chris (at least he was cute). Bah, I’m so pissed. Well, whatever. Melinda is my American Idol for Season 6.
Just so I’m on the record…I would be more than fine with Blake Lewis winning it all. He and Jordin have different styles but both are immensely talented. It’s a win-win no matter what.
I actually like Blake but i think it would be bad for him to win. The AI winner contracts are known for being strict and for the actual winner to not have much input into the CD, that would be bad news for Blake. I really like Jordin but definitely thought the finale would be her and Melinda. Still shocked she got sent home.

I don’t really care who wins next week; it should’ve been Melinda. She’s by far the best singer this year, and probably the best one they’ve ever had on the show. Jordin’s vocals are way better than Blake’s, but Blake’s a way better performer. Even more upsetting is that it’s on against LOST; thank goodness for the DVR!

She was happy because she made it in the finale this season based on the votes from the results and she’s in it to win it all!!!
