TV Talk with GMMR & Ducky: Podcast #25

July 3, 2008 by

Preparing to sit in a ton of traffic this holiday weekend?  Make sure you download the TV Talk Podcast.  We are known for making long car rides that much more enjoyable.  And if you are a fan of SYTYCD, then you can sit in a ton of traffic because we have another podcast just for that show coming out today.

We threatened to never do another TV Talk Podcast if you didn’t flock to iTunes and leave us comments… well I’m happy to report that you love us as much as we love you! Thanks to your generosity, we are back and this week’s podcast is a lot of fun!

I this podcast…

We revise our thoughts on Swingtown now that we’re both completely caught up (and loving it), we talk about Ducky’s chat with Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica) and her stint on Burn Notice plus some scoop on her new Fox pilot Inseparable.

Next we tackle one of the most talked about Fall pilots, J.J. Abrams’ Fringe! Ducky and I review the plot, the mystery and the hotness that is Josh Jackson but don’t worry we don’t spoil anything for you! We’re good like that!

Then it’s time for some listener emails because you guys are cramazing!

Who wants to talk Comic-Con? No? Tough because we run down the shows that will be in San Diego and vent our frustrations over the scheduling. If you’re going to be in town for Comic-Con and you’re a reader or listener, let us know… we’d love to see you!

Before wrapping up this week we have a little fun with our TV version of F, Marry, Kill! That’s right, we each pick one we’d boink, one we’d marry and one we’d go Dexter Morgan on. Join in the fun and leave us some comments about who you’d F, Marry and Kill based on our choices. We’ll read some of them on the air in our next podcast.

Great podcast, as usual! I laughed out loud when you said “Crikey!” in response to the Australian guy’s woes at not being #70.

Just wanted to leave my responses for the M, F, K Game:
FNL: Tim Riggins-F, Eric Taylor-M, and Tammy Taylor-K (I feel badly about this but Kyle Chandler would be such an awesome husband, and Tim Riggins is sex personified)
SYTYCD: Kudos to you for marrying Nigel for his money, but I find him way to annoying, so — Nigel-K, Dan Karaty-F, and Jean-Marc-M (he seems like a nice enough guy)
Buffy, Take 1: Spike-F, Angel-K, and Andrew-M (I was one of those people who always rooted for the Spike-Buffy pairing)
Buffy, Take 2: Xander-F, Andrew-M, and Giles-K (old dudes just don’t do it for me

    This is fun!
How about this Office scenario: Creed, Stanley the Manly, and Kevin Malone?

As the ONLY UK review (and have been there for a long long time, although I just edited it, because I wanted to say something new..), I’m here top leave some comments about what a fantastic podcast his weeks was!! utterly brilliant.

    and as for my MFK’s?

FNL – M – Eric Taylor F- Tim Riggings and K – (although will be phoning for an ambulance right away to save her) Tami

Buffy 1 – M – Andrew F- Spike K (and no emergency services this time, and with a HUGE wooden stake) Angel (sorry way more of a Spike fan here)

Buffy 2 – M – Andrew again (I love Andrew), F – Giles … (but this might be something to do with my secret crush on ASH – he’s hot!), and K – Xander.

I didn’t do a SYTYCD one, because I didn’t know who 2 of the guys were.

For you though – MFK – Chuck! Chuck, Awesome or John Casey?

and Big Bang Theory – Leonard, Raj and Sheldon?

The sucky thing about leaving comments at iTunes is that you can’t leave more than one. I understand why but it means that I can’t really help you gain any numbers there. 🙂

How did I not realize that Friday at Comic Con was as busy as it is? It’s going to be a LONG four days…

Ok, so I did Dan’s F, M, K on his site so now I’m going to do yours here. Then I’ll have to come up with one or two good ones for ya.

FNL: Tim Riggins, Coach Taylor, Tammie Taylor

I’d marry Coach Taylor, f Tim and – sorry Tammie – kill Tammie Taylor. Which is probably the only way she’s going to let me marry Coach Taylor anyway….

    BUFFY: Spike, Angel, Andrew

Totally kill Andrew – for the second time today – and f-ing Spike and marrying Angel. And, you know, maybe someday I can get those two to reconcile….

  4. Rae on July 3rd, 2008 10:20 am

Here’s two VM F/M/K for ya:

    Deputy Sachs, Butters, Cassidy

    Logan, Weevil, Duncan

  5. Alyson on July 3rd, 2008 3:47 pm

As for Rae’s Veronica Mars FMK,

Deputy Sachs: M (at least he has a dependable job)
    Butters: F
Cassidy: K (i’ll never forgive him for what he did to Mac)

    Logan: F
Weevil: M (yeah, I love me some Eli)
    Duncan: K

    As for Chuck,

    Chuck: M
    Awesome: K
John Casey: F (but I may be melding Adam Baldwin, Jayne from Firefly and John Casey all together into one jumbo ball of hotness)

  6. Tanja on July 3rd, 2008 6:40 pm

Another great and entertaining podcast. I would comment on iTunes but I can’t figure it out, or being in Canada I can’t comment properly.

So here is my F/M/K for you:

Mr. Andrew Bernard, Ryan “The Douchebag” Howard, Michael Gary Scott

  7. Lili on July 3rd, 2008 7:30 pm

I totally came around on Swingtown because of that last episode as well! Fun podcast! I’d leave you guys a comment on itunes if I wasn’t so deathly afraid of credit card identity theft (an account-prerequisite).

FNL: I’d hate-f Riggins (who i think is a total butterface, but that body…), marry Coach(loved him since pink mist), and kill Tami.
SYTYCD: Not into reality tv at all. But yeah, I’d tap that Nigel a– for the money.
Buffy 1: Hate-f Spike, marry Angel, and kill Andrew.
Buffy 2: Er. F Andrew (I did kill the guy once), marry Giles, and Kill Xander.

  8. jen on July 3rd, 2008 8:00 pm

buffy 1: f spike, marry andrew, and kill angel because i;m biased towards blondie bear.

buffy 2: f xander (with a gag), marry giles, and kill andrew

sytycd: definitely kill karaty marry nigel, and f jean-marc (i don’t really, but i’d just like to hang with him.

now i’ve got one for you : sytycd
    pasha, neil,and benji?

  9. Sarah on July 3rd, 2008 10:15 pm

Mmm. Dexter Morgan. I’d F him!

Looking forward to the podcast. I’ve got a drive tomorrow and will be listening to it then!

  10. Kimber on July 4th, 2008 11:53 am

I love the F,M,K game! I’m so playing that one with my friends. I enjoyed your responses, but sadly only watched Buffy/Angel of all those shows 🙁 So I can only give my F,M,K on that end:
F – Angel (because he’s kind of hot, and this from someone who digs the female variety…)
M – Giles (because I like accents, and his British one is to die for. Also, the guitar playing kind of made the semi-straight part of me swoon, too. Or maybe I was swooning over Willow swooning over Giles … hmm).
K – Spike (hands down. He was the one character I never really liked, on Buffy or Angel).

I was going to suggest a Chuck variety one, but I see someone else up there did one. So I’ll go with Pushing Daisies:

    Ned, Emerson, Alfredo

  11. Kimber on July 4th, 2008 11:56 am

Whoops! Totally rolled yours and Dan’s F/M/K on Buffy/Angel into one. Oh dear. Okay … here is a better one:

    1. Spike (totally kill) /Andrew (marry, because he was nerdy cute) /Angel (f*ck, just because)
    2. Giles (marry – accent) /Xander (kill, because as much as I loved him, I think Nick Brendon may be annoying) /Andrew (f*ck, because again – nerdy is hot)
