SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE Finale Alumni Reunion

August 8, 2008 by
Filed under So You Think You Can Dance

One of my favorite moments of last night’s SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE finale (besides of course Will & Katee’s encore performance of the Pas de Deux) was the reunion of some of my very favorite SYTYCDancers from years past.  Travis, Jailbait Ivan, Dom, Dmitri, the Schwimmers, Neil..it was great.  There were more than a few notable dancers missing including last season’s runner-up, Danny Tidwell and winner Sabra Johnson.

Speaking of…where the hell was Sabra last night, or all this season for that matter?  Was there some kind of falling out with her and the show?  Not even a mention of her last night as her resign as SYTYCD queen came to an end?  Su-spish-us.

Anyway, here’s a walk down memory lane featuring some of the best dancers from seasons past.

Anderson Cooper vs. The Lohans: The Great Debate of ’08

August 7, 2008 by

In case you’ve been hearing rumblings of the latest celebrity feud but didn’t know the deets, I thought I would fill you in.  During his stint as fill in co-host on LIVE WITH REGIS AND KELLY the other day, the Silver Fox – Anderson Cooper – took a shot at LIVING LOHAN, the reality series starring Lindsay Lohan’s family, which coincidentally does not feature Lindsay Lohan.

The whole exchange between Anderson and Kelly Ripa was really quite funny…to everyone but Dina Lohan.

So to keep you in the pop culture loop, here’s a recap of the great debate of ’08.

P.S. I think every morning should start with a little Anderson Cooper. He’s just so pretty.

Twitch & Joshua – Russian Trepak from the SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE Finale

Filed under So You Think You Can Dance, Twitch

I woke up this morning to a bunch of emails from peeps looking to relive one of the craziest routines we’ve seen on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE – the Russian Trepak as performed by Twitch and Joshua Allen.  How they didn’t collapse after this performances was beyond me. Don’t trow rocks at me, but as much as I truly loved this number, I wish there would have been a bit more dancing mixed in with the street battle. But as Nigel said, this will go down as one of the best ever!

Enjoy!

SYTYCD’s Robert Muraine Ikea Commercial (Full Version)

Former SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE almost-contestant, Robert Muraine, has a series of new Ikea commercials that are all kinds of awesome. He’s so good at what he does and I’m glad he’s been able to showcase his talent in places other than the streets of Santa Monica. This commercial is tailor made for Robert’s talents.

Thanks to Tim G. for the heads up on this one.

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE Finale: The Final Four Perform

August 6, 2008 by
Filed under So You Think You Can Dance, Twitch

It’s your final four America – this is SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE. Katee, Joshua, Twitch and Courtney compete for the final time. And tomorrow night, in part 2 of the final, America’s Favorite Dancer will be crowned.

But before we get to all of that we have some serious dancing to get to. Tonight the four dancers will be switching it up and dancing with each other in every combination. So for the first time we’ll be seeing Courtney and Katee dance together as well as the pairing of Joshua and Twitch. I can’t wait! And the judges, which included Mary, Nigel and tonight’s special guest choreographer Mandy Moore have a hell of a night ahead of them.

Let’s get to the dancing, shall we?

Courtney & Twitch – Hip Hip by NappyTabs
Once again we’ve got some lyrical Hip Hop coming our way, but this time it’s not longing love, but rather loathing love when Twitch and Courtney battle it out on the dance floor. Twitch is flawless, and even thought that’s to be expected, it’s still incredibly fascinating to watch him do his thing. I thought that Courtney really held her own next to him. Girl can sell it. She always brings a lot of attitude to her dances and it really worked tonight. And please, did you see Twitch spinning Courtney on his head with no hands? What? Damn!

The judges were all feeling the routine. Kudos all around. Hell, we even got a Nigel scream. Way to start off the show.

Cat & Courtney…
In SYTYCD finale tradition, we get to know the contestants a bit more during pre-taped one-on-one’s with Cat Deeley. In the first interview of the night we learned a bit more about Courtney Galiano, and what we learned only made me like her that much more. We got to see a glimpse of her family life back in Long Island, and heard from Courtney herself about why she wanted to be part of this show. She knows she’s not the best dancer in the competition but she never thought it was about that. She also revealed that her favorite performance of the series with the recent Jazz routine by Sonya Tahey that she performed with Mark. Courtney feels that she exceeded even her own expectations, so she’s happy for whatever happens tomorrow night.

And with that, for the final time we get to see Courtney perform her solo. All season long I have felt that Courtney has been the strongest female soloist, and she didn’t disappoint tonight. I am however disappointed that the show doesn’t allow the final four to have more time for their final solos. It’s their last time, and they should have their moment to shine. 1-866-TEMPO-01 to vote for Courtney.

PROJECT RUNWAY Goes for Olympic Gold

August 6, 2008 by

Tonight on PROJECT RUNWAY, 5-time Olympic medalist and Dancing with the Stars winner, Apolo Anton Ohno will be the guest judge as the designers are presented with a challenge of – you guessed it – Olympic proportions. And according to Heidi Klum, Ohno is one of the most stylish gold medalists out there. Perhaps a gold medal winner is just what this season’s designers need to get them out of their slump.

Here’s a sneak peek at tonight’s episode which airs at 9/8c on Bravo.

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE Finale Spoilers & Poll

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE Final 4

I really can’t believe it, but tonight is the final performance night of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE.  What?  How crazy is that?  Tomorrow night we will crown our fourth season winner and then begin the long wait until the Season 5 premiere next summer.  And yes, SYTYCD will be back for another season as Fox just announced the early pick-up.

So tonight for the final time, Johsua Allen, Twitch Boss, Katee Shean and Courtney Galiano will be taking to the stage to perform for your votes.  With all the dancers being paired up in different combos I’m sure we can expect some fantastic routines tonight.

The question now is whether or not the dancers are full prepared.  Two of the four finalists were sent to the hospital this week after collapsing from what was rumored to be dehydration and exhaustion. (And this is legit exhaustion…they weren’t pulling a Lohan or anything). More than a full day of rehersals were missed. With so many routines to conquer, a full day of rehersals is pretty major.  But the show much go on, and I’m sure the performances will still be amazing.

Spoiler Alert! Spoiler Alert! Spoiler Alert!

Based on information gathered from those who attended the live taping, here are some spoilers for what we’ll see tonight and or Thursday night…all depends on what they air, when. (Thanks to DuckyDoesTV.com for the info)

PROJECT RUNWAY Recap: Episode 3

August 5, 2008 by
Filed under Project Runway, Project Runway Recaps

PROJECT RUNWAY has been boring me to tears this season. If it weren’t for my girl  Jennifer Eolin‘s PROJECT RUNWAY recaps, I am not sure I would even be watching.  Below is an excerpt of Jennifer’s latest recap that she kindly shares with GMMR…thank you – it spares me from writing about this dredge.

Jennifer’s Runway…

Jennifer Eolin (http://www.myspace.com/jennifereolin)Project Runway Blog Readers,

Hello! As you know, my name is Jennifer (Eolin) and usually I write an extensive review of the show, highlighting ever detail with wit and candor. (I am hilarious, just ask me!) However, I watched last night’s episode and it was SO BAD that my notes looked like this:

* Are they recycling the NYC City inspiration challenge from Season 1?? Have they run out of original ideas ALREADY? And why isn’t Jay Carroll back to judge since he won that challenge??

* I don’t care about these people. I really don’t.

* I need chocolate.

* Where did they all get matching rain boots? What assistant lost a bet had to go get those?

* I have no chocolate. ANGRY FISTS!

* Was Terri’s photo “blurred” because she used copywritten material?

* Swear to God, there are less designers this week besides Wesley’s departure. WHERE are Joe, Korto, Kelli and Jarell? Were they auf’d and we weren’t made aware of it? Why are they ignoring the few designers with TALENT???

* Is Pink Dot still in service? And if so, do they have chocolate?

* Stella likes “leathuh” – I get it! Suede talks in the third person – I get it! Blayne needs lithium – I get it! I’m bored out of my mind – I GET IT. EVOLVE THIS STORY or drop it!

* Zzzzzzzzzzzzz….

The MOLE…Anyone Still Watching?

August 5, 2008 by

The Mole

Am I the only one still watching THE MOLE?  Talk about a show that didn’t live up to my expectations.  I was so excited for the long awaited return of what was once one of my favorite game/reality shows, but sadly this season was mostly a bust thanks to the casting of some truly obnoxious people.

If you’re still watching then you know that Craig, Mark and Nicole still remain.  In last night’s episode they took the final quiz.  Next week The Mole will be revealed and someone could walk away with $420,000.

Here’s the deal…if The Mole is not Nicole then she should be super embarrased for playing such a horrible game.  For a Doctor, he has shown her self incapable of the easiest of tasks throughtout the season.  For her sake I really hope that she’s been sabotaging herself in order to wn the big prize.

At this point I don’t really care if it’s Mark or Craig that wins. I guess I like Craig a little more than Mark so I’d like to see him take home the money.  As long as it’s not Nicole I don’t really care.

To be honest, I thought tonight’s episode was the finale.  Is it wrong that I am bummed that I have to sit through a whole other episode next week?  Ugh.

If you’re still watching…talk to me.  Who do you think is The Mole?

From Sterling Cooper to Dunder Mifflin

August 5, 2008 by
Filed under Mad Men, The Office

Rich Sommer of MAD MEN to guest on THE OFFICE

Talk about opposite ends of the spectrum. On one hand there’s Don Draper – competent, self assured Creative Director for Sterling Cooper.  And then there’s Michael Scott, the anything but Regional Manager of Dunder Mifflin – Scranton.  These two men have managed their fair share of men, but never have their worlds collided until now.  Well almost.

EW’s Michael Ausiello has just revealed that Rich Sommer, who plays Harry Crane on MAD MEN will be making a special guest appearance in the season premiere of THE OFFICE. According to Ausiello, “details about Sommer’s role are being closely guarded—an Office insider would only reveal that his character “ties in with a surprise twist”.

A surprise twist?  On THE OFFICE?  Why does that fill me with fear and dread? Ok Dunder Mifflinites, any guesses on how this mysterisous mad man might be involved?

Who Got Voted Out on BIG BROTHER

After being royally disappointed in the dreck that was Season 9 of BIG BROTHER, I’m glad that CBS is back to the dreck that I know and love in Season 10.  Yup, BIG BROTHER is back to its roots and I’m sucked in all over again. I’m loving this new season despite some truly dreadful people living in the house.

My Take on the Houseguests…
There are a few I’m really liking these days (although give it a few and things can change).  But for now I can at least tolerate Keesha, Ollie, Michelle and Memphis.  I actually don’t mind Renny as much as I did in the beginning when I thought she was the most annoying houseguest ever.  April wouldn’t be so bad if she wasn’t kissing Libra’s ass all the time.  Jessie is an ignorant fool.  Libra needs to be put out on her ass…go home to your babies.  And Jerry, well he’s certainly not the sweet, old man I thought he was going to be.  His temper is going to be the end of him. I guess that leaves Dan.  Who knew my favorite houseguest would be the conservative Republican?!
