DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES: Me and My Town

Desperate Housewives Cast

Hey guys! I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and enjoyed the new episode of Desperate Housewives; I know I did.

Rather than go through the episode housewife- by- housewife like I usually do I thought I’d share what I liked and maybe didn’t really like about last night’s episode. Then it’s your turn.

Overall, I thought it was pretty good. It seems like the fallout from the club fire is going to be the driving force behind the storylines for the next few weeks. I’m okay with this because tonight’s events felt organic; as long as things don’t get melodramatic the storylines will keep my attention.

My favorite storyline of this episode is Carlos regaining his sight. As you all know by now, Gabby is my favorite housewife and I’m eager to see her get her looks back, which Carlos regaining his sight will force her to do. That, and I’m a sucker for a good old-fashioned makeover.

I also like that Katherine is becoming a more central part of the show. Her relationship with Mike will get her more screen time and give her something to do, and now that Susan has found out Katherine will definitely be a major focus of the show.

Another storyline that shows promise is Andrew’s budding relationship with his new boyfriend. Andrew has become a really likeable character and he deserves more than being his mother’s assistant.

One thing I didn’t really love last night was the amount of time spent on Dave’s guilt trip. The fact that he feels so guilty is understandable but I feel like the meek attempt at making him a more likeable character is too little, too late.

Another thing that bothered me was Lynette’s unconditional support of her son. Seven people died in the fire, and Lynette stands up for Porter to Tom without even knowing if he’s guilty or not. I understand that she loves her son, but supporting and protecting your child when he might have murdered seven people is ridicules.

So what did you guys think? Was this episode a good follow up to the big fire episode in your opinion?

I can see your point about Lynnette, but to be fair, if she thought that Porter started the fire, you can imagine that she wouldn’t have thought that Porter meant to kill anyone. She would have assumed that it was just to destroy the building–to get back at the owner–not to commit murder. Hence her need to protect.

And I think your point about Dave is true. Way too little too late. And I am enjoying the nicer side of Andrew. 🙂

Dave is a nutbar!!! Guilt or not he strangled the Dr with his bare hands and killed 6 other people while trying to cover it up, he is evil.

Gabby is sooooo my fav as well. I love her and Carlos, allways have!
