SMALLVILLE: Injustice

Hey GMMR! Did you fall for last night’s Smallville plot twist like I did? I really thought Chloe was in the clear and back with Clark. Not so! After more than half of the episode we found out that Chloe was really still MIA and Ava, a meteor infected Tess recruit, was posing as Clark’s blonde sidekick!

A lot has been happening this season and with the end in sight there is a lot of entertaining conflict. First we have Clark and Oliver. The two superheroes just have different mindsets when it comes to right and wrong. Then there’s the vicious and evil Tess who has been showing a softer side and is on a mission to supposedly help Clark. And then there’s Clark. What can I say about the red blue blur but that he’s only out to do the right thing which has him not only fighting the world but his friends as well. This season went fast and with time running out I have a feeling Clark will be losing a lot more than just Lana. On to last nights highlights.

The episode opens with Chloe running for her life in the dark woods crying and muddy. The easy clue here was Tess’ smirk before Clark disappears to save her but she’s always wearing that malicious smile so who knew?! With Clark’s sonic hearing he saves her from a tracker trailer truck about to squash her like a bug. After getting her back to the farm they discuss Davis Bloom. Chloe has certainly changed her train of thought and now wants Clark to kill him because that’s the only way to save mankind from such a monster.

The next day Clark pays Oliver a visit so that the two can come up with a plan to rid the world of Doomsday once and for all. Of course Oliver just wants to kill him like Chloe but Clark has another idea. His plan is to send Doomsday to the phantom zone and release the human side of Davis. Clark decides to send Oliver on a mission to get black kryptonite while he works on a more humane way to end Doomsday.

Back at the barn Chloe discovers Clark pulling the crystal out of the hidden compartment in the floor. She is against what Clark is doing. He explains that he’s only out to save Davis from himself which is the right thing to do. Their dispute is cut short when Dr. O’Neil phones Clark with news that Doomsday has hit again.

After arriving on the scene they’re met with a sickening display of what Doomsday is capable of. There’s a body in the wall and one on the floor. The body is that of Livewire, a meteor infected former Black Creek patient who they discover has a chip in his temporal lobe. What they don’t know at the time is the Livewire is a former member of the team Tess put together to track down Doomsday. After Chloe takes off from the scene to meet up with the other recruits the Doctor tells Clark that there’s something going on with her, she’s hiding something. Yes, I still didn’t put the clues together at this point!

Meanwhile Oliver is off to find the black kryptonite in the Luthor mansion and is almost caught in the act when Tess arrives home. Throwing her off the real reason he is there Oliver climbs in bed and pretends his only intention is to seduce her. What they both aren’t aware of is that Clark has figured out is that Chloe is actually Ava and that the only two recruits left are on their way to the mansion to get revenge against Tess.

By the end of the show Oliver admits to killing Lex to Clark and Chloe is still missing. It looks like Clark is on his own again. Do you think there’s time for Chloe? Will she be returning? Things are definitely heating up for the season end! And as always let me know what you think is coming down the pike for the characters of Smallville?
