Wednesday – today you’re waking up with the realization that the weekend is in your reach…or that it’s just too far away. Either way, I suggest you pass the time by get lost in some really great TV tonight. ABC is bringing the funny. CBS has the suspense. The pretty people are hanging on The CW. Cops and spies are keeping things in check over on NBC. Fox and Bravo are cooking up something delicious.

Here are a few highlights from this evening’s TV lineup…

The Middle | 8pm on ABC
“The Diaper Incident”
Frankie is humiliated when she goes shopping for baby diapers for Sue, who has run out of them while babysitting, and the clerk thinks she’s looking for adult diapers. Elsewhere, Frankie makes Mike take a physical, thinking he’s starting to break down, but it’s her back that goes out and she tries to hide it from Mike.

Survivor: Nicaragua | 8pm on CBS
“Pulling the Trigger”
NaOnka and Kelly B. exchange a war of words over the hunt for the hidden immunity idol, and a secret is revealed that solidifies a powerful alliance. At tribal council, another castaway is voted out of the game.

Undercovers | 8pm on NBC
“Devices”
An informant claims to have information about a device that would compromise the identities of all CIA agents; Steven and Samantha struggle to find the balance between being partners and a married couple while in the field.

America’s Next Top Model | 8pm on The CW
“Karolina Kurkova”
The models walk a conveyor-belt runway in a downtown Los Angeles tunnel; model Karolina Kurkova discusses healthful eating with the contestants; the women pose with wrestlers in the photo shoot; another elimination.

Hell’s Kitchen | 8pm on Fox
“11 Chefs Compete”

Challenges facing the 11 remaining chefs include devising menus for a retro-themed high-school prom (with the losing team having to set up for the prom) and preparing entrée salads (the winner is to be featured in Bon Appetit magazine). Then, undercooking and overcooking bedevil dinner service.

Better With You | 8:30pm on ABC
“Better With Ben”
Ben is secretly hurt when he is left out of the Putney family’s Christmas card photo; Mia and Casey ask Maddie and Ben to be the people who say “no” to their future child.

Modern Family | 9pm on ABC
“Earthquake”
When an earthquake hits, Claire gets stuck in the bathroom with the plumber; Manny experiences an existential crisis while out with Jay; Mitchell and Cameron use the quake as an excuse to get out of a party thrown by a friend (Nathan Lane).

Law & Order: SVU | 9pm on NBC
“Merchandise”
A teenage girl’s death in a hit-and-run accident leads Benson and Stabler to a human trafficking ring; Cragen becomes frustrated by his crumbling precinct.

Hellcats | 9pm on The CW
“The Prisoner’s Song”
Savannah convinces the team to let Dan direct its bid video; Marti decides to further investigate Julian’s case; Red tells Derrick he plans to win back Vanessa.

Criminal Minds | 9pm on CBS
“Remembrance of Things Past”
Several women are murdered, and a familiar pattern prompts Rossi to revisit a cold case that has troubled him for 25 years and causes him to suspect a killer is at work again.

Cougar Town | 9:30pm on ABC
“Makin’ Some Noise”
Grayson becomes the center of Jules’ attention as she adjusts to living by herself; Travis tries to redefine himself; Ellie wants to avoid befriending her new nanny.

Terriers | 10pm on FX
“Manifest Destiny”
The Lindus conspiracy widens around Hank and Britt, who must clean it up in 24 hours or else Mark will no longer be able to protect them. But in any case, he can’t protect them from Lindus’ business associates.

“Judicial Discretion”
Jimmy is hired by popular judge Ruben Wright (Judd Hirsch) to defend him against murder charges, though Kathryn is torn by the prospect of prosecuting Wright, her former mentor.

Law & Order: Los Angeles | 10pm on NBC
“Echo Park”
Winters and Jaruszalski question multiple suspects when a murderous cult member is stabbed to death; the case hits close to home for Winters when his wife (Teri Polo), a former detective, is questioned.

The Defenders | 10pm on CBS |
“Nevada vs. Carter”
Nick defends a stripper charged with solicitation. Meanwhile, Pete is forced to take an undesirable case after he loses at poker.

Top Chef: Just Desserts | 10pm on Bravo
“Lucent Dossier”
The pastry chefs create exotic flaming desserts as inspired by the Lucent Dossier Experience performance troupe, but one culinarian feels the heat of stressful competition and must leave the contest.

  • Harry Loves Lisa | 10pm on TV Land | Series Premiere: In the premiere of this reality series chronicling the lives of Hollywood couple Harry Hamlin and Lisa Rinna, Harry takes a stab at stand-up comedy on his return to show business, while Lisa gets in trouble for her comments about cosmetic surgery, which lead to a conversation with their two daughters about self-esteem. [GMMR: I’m not sure this show would have typically landed in the ‘Spotlight’ but since it stars Aaron and Lynn Echolls, well I just can’t deny former VERONICA MARS stars.]

    Tonight I’ll be watching Modern Family and Cougar Town. I’ll be DVRing Undercovers, The Middle, and Better With You.
