Lisa Edelstein Leaving HOUSE

May 17, 2011 by

The recently announced eighth (and likely final) season of HOUSE is shaping up to be very different — according to published reports, original series star Lisa Edelstein (Cuddy) won’t be in it.

Fox could not be reached for comment, but Edelstein released a statement to TVLine saying, “After much consideration, I am moving onward with a combination of disappointment at leaving behind a character I have loved playing for seven years and excitement of the new opportunities in acting and producing that lie ahead.”

Given that the news just broke today and the season finale is airing next week, let’s hope there is some sort of closure for the character of Cuddy in the hour.

Are you disappointed HOUSE is going forward without Edelstein?

Unless the season finale rekindles the House/Cuddy relationship ( and I hope it doesn’t) then the main problem is who will House have to deal with as Dean of Medicine and how will that go.

It may provide a good story line for next season.

Maybe I’ll watch House again. I really loved the show at the beginning. I loved Cuddy. But then Cuddy became a shell of her former self, and that whole Huddy disaster forced me to just delete it from my DVR. Haven’t looked back. But now maybe I’ll give it another chance.

Well, if there’s some sort of closure on the season finale, then that means it was not a recent decision, which IMO, is what’s really going on here. I don’t think this is any news for the House cast and crew, just for fans. And they chose to release the news just before the season finale to boost ratings. Clasic of Shore, Yaitanes and Co.

I’m disappointed. But that’s just the icing on the cake of the lazy, poorly thought out writing of the past few seasons. Let’s see if her sendoff is any better than the pathetic mess that was Cameron’s.

Not sad to see her go…found her irritating and could she never find tops that fit her properly? I will hate when the show ends…love Hugh Laurie and Wilson. We should see more of them together.

I’m leaving with her. this finale will be my last House episode as well. she was the main reason I didn’ give up on this show 2 years ago and now there is no point to continue. Hugh alone is not enough to keep me as a viewer because even the storyline is a crap. it’s not going onward just in circles.

Wow. Not watching House anymore if she is not there. She is the second most important character. She can´t leave. It´s gonna suck now so i´m not even botheirng.
