About Last Night…HOMELAND, THE CLEVELAND SHOW, FAMILY GUY and More

November 21, 2011 by

Sunday TV got disturbed a bit with the AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS on ABC, which meant no ONCE UPON A TIME, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES or PAN AM, but there were still plenty of shows on last night.

So let’s talk television!

HOMELAND…why so amazing? Seriously, this show is one of the biggest highlights of my week. We’re eight hours in and despite some signs that Brody might not be as clean as I hoped he was, I like the uncertainty so far. I don’t know if I’ll be okay with six seasons of doubting Brody’s motives (and I doubt the series plans to go that way), but right now, it works. What do you guys think — is Brody good or bad?

It’s no secret I’m an Animation Domination nerd, and I think my favorite episode from last night’s block came from THE CLEVELAND SHOW. Say what you will about it, but the show genuinely makes me giggle. (BUTTE FOCKERS as a new fictional FOCKERS sequel? You know it’s coming.)

FAMILY GUY revived Joe’s “dead” son in time for the holidays, and while I enjoyed seeing the call-back to several old plotlines (Mayor West marrying Lois’ sister, Quagmire’s dad having a sex-change operation), the episode felt flat to me.

We had Sarah Michelle Gellar and Alyson Hannigan on AMERICAN DAD last night. Did anyone catch it? Stan controlling the CIA-bot voiced by SMG felt weird and wrong, but perfectly in tune for the show. However, I am surprised more BUFFY geeks weren’t talking about this “reunion.”

Haven’t gotten to last night’s THE WALKING DEAD or DEXTER last night…were they any good?

What TV impressed you last night?
