About Last Night… AMERICAN IDOL and LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT

February 9, 2012 by

Wednesday night TV was a good news/bad news kind of night. The good news? I was at an event getting you guys some fun interviews. The bad news is I was able to watch very little television last night.

But, there are still a few shows to talk about, and then you guys can tell me what I should be catching up on first…

The beginning of Hollywood week on AMERICAN IDOL has always been my least favorite part of the show. Considering how many contestants we’re losing, it feels like these are the shows that should be extended. So few singers get shown during this time that it’s a bit frustrating. Apparently the hour ended on a cliffhanger with a contestant falling down, but since Fox/TiVo didn’t schedule the show to go over the 9 PM hour, my TiVo cut it off. So…there’s that.

I did get a chance to screen last night’s episode of LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT a bit early and I really, really enjoyed it. They’re 13 seasons into this show and while there is certainly an element of predictability in some episodes, last night didn’t feel so cut-and-dry. There were some great guest turns (Cameron Monaghan was certainly one of the best male guest stars they’ve had in a while) and my ONE LIFE TO LIVE-loving heart was so happy to briefly see Ilene Kristen (Roxy, on the now-gone ABC soap).

And that was all I was able to watch. No ABC comedies, no ROYAL PAINS, and it feel weird/wrong. So tell me, what should I be catching up on first?
