SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE: Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy on Reaching 200 Episodes

It’s kind of crazy, but SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE celebrates its 200th episode tonight. That’s a whole lot of dancing, tears and hot tamale trains that have been accumulated over the years.

The good news? Tonight’s milestone episode is pretty freaking amazing: not only will viewers be treated to the unveiling of this season 9’s top 20 dancers over the two hour event, but we’ll also get to see them dancing in their style with their fellow dancers and in a massive group number.

After a few days of not-so-quiet whispers that ROOKIE BLUE had been renewed for a fourth season, ABC and Global TV made the show’s pick up official today.

“We heard some [renewal] rumors just before the weekend, but nothing’s official until that word [from ABC and Global TV] comes out,” ROOKIE BLUE star Enuka Okuma (Traci) told me this afternoon a few hours after the news broke. “So it was great to hear it today.”

And while fans were abuzz all weekend, the actors on the show were waiting for the official word before getting too excited.

Over the weekend, IBG Inc. brought together a group of actresses (Constance Marie, Tamara Taylor, Jennifer Aspen, and Lesley Fera to name just a few) to participate in a staged reading of “My Letter to Fear” and bring attention (and funds) to the East Los Angeles Women’s Center.

After the event, I sat down with Taylor (Cam on BONES) to discuss how she got involved with the organization, the impact BONES — and Cam — has on women, and how much longer she sees herself being a part of the Fox series.
