Let’s talk about Thursday’s TV!

SUPERNATURAL: Uh, so Jack made a widespread LIAR, LIAR?

I’m glad Chuck came back, because with Lucifer’s son running around power mad, God should be checking in on Earth. (Though I want to see the universe with just squirrels.) But him viewing the guys as his “favorite show” and wanting the mayhem to continue was particularly cruel.

The finale felt like a particularly fitting end to the show’s penultimate season…though I do wonder if they’ll forgo a lot of it with monsters of the week next season.

(Also got weirdly emotional at the annual “Carry on Wayward Son” montage…especially with so much John footage.)

GOTHAM: It was really gratifying to see GOTHAM in a Batman era, but I wish we had gotten a little more time in the future…even if it was just a second hour.

The show was backed into a corner with the jump, though, because the one thing I really wish we had been able to see was Bruce reuniting with Gordon as himself versus Batman. But I also respect them not recasting David and letting him finish out the journey. It was a tough position.

SUPERSTORE: Oh, Jonah. Jonah, Jonah, Jonah. I was hiding behind a pillow (literally) at points because I was so mortified by basically everything. But it was lovely he protected Emma when she was high, even if it only ended up making him looking a whole lot worse to everyone but Amy.

THE BIG BANG THEORY: Wow, Leonard didn’t last long as a non-people-pleaser. But it was really unexpectedly moving to see Sheldon wanting to protect Leonard, while also being aware that his desire to help could have been him unwillingly wanting to sabotage his friend…but Amy pointed out that concern about his motives proved he did care.

LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT: I’m not a lawyer (nor do I play one on TV), but Olivia bringing a victim to her apartment to help her realize the truth about her abuse…that would have been thrown out in court, right? Especially with no one else there to witness it?
