SUPERNATURAL just returned from what was supposed to be its last hiatus of its run, but the Monday, March 23 hour will reportedly be the final episode for the foreseeable future.

Showrunner Andrew Dabb broke the news on Twitter while promoting “Destiny’s Child.”Due to the shutdown, this will be our last episode for awhile,” he tweeted. “Stay well, stay safe, and we’ll see you on the other side.” (Reps for the show didn’t respond to a request for comment.)

Though the series had filmed through episode 18 (of their 20 planned hours), “our visual effects and sound departments have closed because of the outbreak,” Dabb explained. “So, right now, the episodes can’t be finished. However, have some special treats coming along the way—to help us all get through this.”

But, Dabb reassured fans, “we, the CW, and Warner Bros fully intend to return and finish the series. It’s not a matter of ‘if’, it’s a matter of ‘when.'”
