ABC has ordered six additional episodes of BIG SKY, bringing its season 1 total up to 16 episodes.

The series, inspired by C.J. Box’s book series, follows Cassie Dewell (Kylie Bunbury) and Jenny Hoyt (Katheryn Winnick) as they try and figure out what happened to a couple of missing girls—and Jenny’s husband/Cassie’s partner, Cody Hoyt (Ryan Phillippe). (The show also had one of the biggest twists of the season in its pilot.)

When the show was set to be ten episodes, creator David E. Kelley told reporters that there “will probably be two five‑episode arcs.” “They bleed into each other and overlap, but they’re primarily two different arcs,” he said at the time. “So, if, for example, someone could only watch the first half of the season and that’s it, there will be closure on one storyline. We kind of like that format as storytellers because we cultivate and introduce an underlying story while we’re going full guns on our A-story. And by the time that we get closure on that first story, the other story’s already planted roots, so our audience will be in success invested in that as well.”

BIG SKY also stars Brian Geraghty as Ronald Pergman, Dedee Pfeiffer as Denise Brisbane, Natalie Alyn Lind as Danielle Sullivan, Jade Pettyjohn as Grace Sullivan, Jesse James Keitel as Jerrie, Valerie Mahaffey as Helen Pergman, with John Carroll Lynch as Rick Legarski.

BIG SKY, Tuesdays, 10/9c, ABC
