LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT’s Rollins (Kelli Giddish) is going to get another blast from her past: James Morrison will be reprising his role of Jim, Rollins’ father, in an upcoming episode of the NBC drama, a rep for the show confirmed.

Jim first popped up on-screen in season 21’s “Eternal Relief from Pain,” as he and Amanda’s sister Kim (Lindsay Pulsipher) blew into her life with a case and a whole lot of trouble. He disappeared by the end of the hour, seemingly in not-great health, but not willing to take the steps to get himself better.

Now, he’ll appear in the upcoming episode “In the Year We All Fell Down,” which will air later this season. SVU showrunner Warren Leight first revealed the news on Twitter, thanking Morrison for flying into New York to return to the show, noting he “did beautiful work” in the hour.

Morrison’s past TV credits include 24, TWIN PEAKS, and NCIS.

SVU is currently in the middle of a mini-hiatus, before the two-hour LAW & ORDER crossover that will bring Christopher Meloni’s Elliot Stabler back to the franchise and launch the new series ORGANIZED CRIME.

LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT, Thursdays, 9/8c, NBC
