CHICAGO P.D.: Jason Beghe Praises the (Brief) Addition of Cleveland Berto

CHICAGO P.D.’s Intelligence is getting a temporary assist from Andre Cooper—but the cast can’t rave enough about his portrayer, Cleveland Berto.

“LaRoyce [Hawkins] and I were just talking the other day about how it’s funny, he just got here, but he fits in so well that it feels like he’s been here for a while,” Patrick John Flueger, who plays Ruzek, previously said.

And though the time is short-lived, Jason Beghe (who plays Voight) was delighted by what Berto brought to the show.

“He did a fantastic job on a three-episode arc,” he told reporters in the video below. “He informed the team in a way—he played more of a Gen-Z kind of cop, and a very highly ethical…there’s a negative connotation to the word, but I’m going to use it without any of that: He’s woke and aware. And he helped us tell a story that needs to be told. And he did a fantastic job and we all miss him; he is terrific.”
