Couch Madness: ‘Closure’ (Group 2)

March 23, 2022 by

In honor of the NCAA tournament season, Give Me My Remote is bringing back our TV-centric bracket, pitting similarly titled episodes against each other: Couch Madness! (Credit for the excellent name goes fellow reporter Chris Hayner.)

The seeding is simple: rather than quality of the hour, we’re going by air date (with the oldest episode getting the #1 slot and the newest getting #8). With Peak TV, this will not include every single show that has used this title; rather, we picked a selection from what was available.

The first round will run from Wednesday, March 23 through Friday, March 25. Round two will kick off on Monday, March 28, with the final face-off starting Thursday, March 31.

Next up? “Closure.” And with this title we’re doing something different: There are enough shows for two separate brackets. So keep reading for the second bracket, episode descriptions (from IMDB), and the poll. (For the other episodes competing, check out all the brackets here!)

Couch Madness Closure

8 SIMPLE RULES (1): “Cate finds a note in Kerry’s pants that were with the laundry. It’s an e-mail from Bruno Cunningham. And the only Bruno Cate is aware of is the guy to whom Kerry lost her virginity and who then broke her heart. Cate confides in Bridget, who’s shocked to learn that Kerry is keeping in touch with Bruno – without telling her! Cate is afraid Kerry will get hurt again and wants to ask her if she’s going to meet Bruno again, but Bridget convinces her that she should give Kerry some privacy. Then she herself goes to ask Kerry if there is anything going on. But Bruno is already in the house and Kerry has offered the attic for him to sleep in while he’s passing by during backpacking around America!”

vs.

CHICAGO P.D. (8): “Burgess fights for her life. Dep. Supt. Sam Miller is desperate to find her son’s killer. Voight and Upton deal with the aftermath of their deadly decision. Ruzek struggles with the pressure of the situation.”

RAINES (2): “Raines’ ex-wife convinces him that her current husband’s death was not an accident.”

vs.

FBI (7): “A woman with information about the death of Maggie’s husband is abducted leading the team to uncover a criminal operation larger than anyone imagined. Also, Dana puts her career in jeopardy by standing by and allowing Maggie to work on the case, which has such a personal connection to her.”

WITHOUT A TRACE (3): “A man whose daughter disappeared years earlier disappears himself while searching for another lost child. Meanwhile, Jack is relegated to desk duty as the new boss comes in.”

vs.

SURVIVOR’S REMORSE (6): “M-Chuck has unconventional ideas about closure and Cam sees his father in a new light. Reggie and Trent head north.”

DROP DEAD DIVA (4): “When she’s assigned to help the D.A.’s office with an old murder case, Jane (Brooke Elliott) learns that she once worked there and had an affair with her boss. When Kim (Kate Levering) agrees to go after a fashion blogger for luring impressionable teenage girls into spending thousands of dollars on clothes, her target turns out to be Stacy (April Bowlby).”

AGENTS OF SHIELD (5): “Ward’s vendetta and plan for revenge against S.H.I.E.L.D. brings the team to their knees, and Coulson proves he will be willing to do anything to settle the conflict.”
