Let’s talk about Wednesday night’s TV!

CHICAGO MED: I love that we got some Maggie and Goodwin scenes, even if it wasn’t under the best of circumstances. But I do repeat my almost weekly plea of someone giving Maggie a freaking hug…her talk with Ben was absolutely brutal.

Goodwin risking everything to save Archer’s job is such a badass move, but also is such a dangerous slippery slope to go down, because she can’t play this card constantly. I hope he appreciates it. (Especially as his health is failing, too.)

CHICAGO FIRE: It’s never fun seeing Severide and Kidd fight, but I appreciate that the show lets them be messy in a healthy way, while also showcasing the love that’s at their core. Being a happy couple doesn’t equal a lack of drama or a sudden boring path. Let couples in love be messy and sexy!

The Herrmann family is breaking my freaking heart, man. But Boden showing up for Christopher while he was waiting at the hospital? Not to be dramatic, but I wanted to throw myself to the ground.

CHICAGO P.D.:  Looking at the case, I didn’t expect it to be a possible multi-episode arc going into it, so that was a lovely surprise. What the heck are the Becks up to?!

I’m absolutely heartbroken for Upton, though. The episode did a great job of showcasing how lonely she is, and that final gut punch at the end of learning A) it won’t be ending any time soon and Halstead opted to extend his time away? O U C H.

I know it’s messier this way, but, man, I really wish Jay had just told his wife this himself. Even if they didn’t use Jesse Lee Soffer’s voice and we had the same kind of one-sided phone call…Hailey deserves better than her husband ghosting her and making decisions about their life without even giving her the courtesy of a phone call. I do hope, at some point, they can fix this. (Somehow.)

But I’m glad in the aftermath Upton at least severed ties from Sean. He’s toxic and wants her to be ensnared in his world. RUN, HAILEY.

[For more on the episode, here’s what director Gia-Rayne Harris shared.]
