Let’s talk about Wednesday night’s TV!

CHICAGO MED: Oh, it’s always great to see TJ Thyne on my TV. His character was, uh, a chaos-causer, but it was lovely to see him briefly in the MED world.

Logically, I knew they weren’t going to kill LJ off, but, boy, did everyone involved sell that “…but he could die” moment well. And who in their right mind wouldn’t want to see him and Maggie go on a date now?! (Well, you know, as soon as he’s better.)

I’m kind of shocked Zola was fired, though. She absolutely crossed the line, to be clear, but I figured we’d see more of her/that storyline.

THE MASKED SINGER: Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard were robbed! (What a weird thing to be writing in 2024.)

CHICAGO FIRE: Okay, I’m sorry, how did this case worker not vet the “uncle”?!? Thank goodness for Cruz. And, truly, thank goodness that the man was not related to Javi, because trying to blackmail a family who loves that boy to keep him? Absolute trash. (Still trash, but greedy scammy trash.)

Nooo, just when it seemed like the 51 fanboy was decent and helping, he may be shady? Sigh. That being said—and I know I’m biased as a reporter—he was right to convince Stella to utilize the request for her interview to help Girls on Fire. (Maybe not best to trick someone into an interview, but he was at least using his brain.)

CHICAGO P.D.: I’m going to miss Tracy Spiridakos. I’m glad we got to get a little more insight into Upton’s past, and, man, she handled this case the best she could. I loved the small, quiet moment between Upton and Atwater at the start—it just felt so human and a slice of friendship that people have in real life, but isn’t always prioritized in a time-constrained network series.

And, wow, Jo…really needed Upton, literally and figuratively. Really needed help. I hope she can take this opportunity to actually work on her sobriety.
