CHICAGO MED, THE MASKED SINGER, A MILLION LITTLE THINGS

A MILLION LITTLE THINGS – “think twice” – An unexpected fan steps behind the mic at Maggie’s radio show, and Walter attempts to convince Rome he is more than capable of being behind the wheel. Meanwhile, Eddie makes moves to reenter the dating pool and gets some help from an unexpected ally. WEDNESDAY, FEB. 15 10:00-11:00 p.m. EST. (ABC/Darko Sikman)

Let’s talk about Wednesday night’s TV!

CHICAGO MED: I really wish if they were going to do a “huge storm in Chicago!!” episode, it had stretched across the entire franchise. Alas.

Well, now I’m wondering if Archer’s son is going to be the additional point in the Hannah-Dean-Will…situation.

I’m happy for Maggie that Ben came back to her. I understand why he was hurt, but she’s lost so much lately; she deserves something good, and hopefully they can stay in marital bliss for a bit of time.

THE MASKED SINGER: DICK VAN DYKE????? Oh my God. Doing this kind of show is deceptively hard (the contestants talk about the costume difficulties, but it’s a lot), but he’s 97 and looked decades younger. My MARY POPPINS-loving heart was so freaking happy to see him, even if it’s sad he was unmasked.

(Apologies to Sara Evans, who was very good, but Dick Van Dyke is going to be figurative headline/takeaway for everyone.)

CHICAGO FIRE: Yikes to Carver’s brother. It’s interesting to see Carver and Kidd try to navigate their odd relationship, because she knows deeply personal things about him, but he’s still the new kid on the block. And it makes sense he’s not buying into the work family being a thing. Viewers know what these characters have gone through and why they’re as close as they are. Hopefully he can get that at some point.

(I remain worried about Cindy, even though I’m holding on to hope that she’ll be okay after Hawkins’ tragic death.)

A MILLION LITTLE THINGS: Oh, Maggie. Her breakdown was so hard to watch, but also so, so needed. She has so much on her plate—and so much we missed during the time jump—that it’s no surprise she just…couldn’t anymore once the morning sickness returned.

And, ugh, I hate that Gary’s therapist is betraying him so thoroughly, especially after he shouted her out as a temporary fill-in. Maggie shouldn’t have to worry about taking a maternity leave or keeping her job. I know Gary isn’t a therapist, but why not have him be her fill-in.

Rome and his father and Gina and the unhoused encampment storylines were just really difficult to watch. Not because they were bad—but, uh, I hope the show doesn’t drop that all of those people lost their safe space—but just deeply sad.

On the flip side: Eddie and Greta’s friendship is just delightful. I do hope we get to balance a little bit more of the light in the final episodes.

CHICAGO P.D.: Hmm…ASA Chapman absolutely jeopardized a lot of cases, and Voight protecting her makes sense, but also could still blow up in a big way. I’m curious to see how the show utilizes her/that going forward.
