LEGO MASTERS: Jamie Berard Previews the ‘Wonderfully Chaotic’ Kitten Challenge

LEGO MASTERS has an unexpected challenge for its Thursday, October 5 episode: kittens!

“It was wonderfully chaotic,” Brickmaster Jamie Berard tells Give Me My Remote in the video below. “There’s a reason that we say ‘like herding cats’—that is exactly how I could describe this entire challenge.”

The show has had a dog-centric episode before, but this season’s challenge finds the contestants being paired with an adoptable kitten for a very important task. “The builders had to make a play space for them, a little home that they could engage with,” Berard says. “And we were judging them on how well the kitten actually interacted and engaged with their play space.”

“It was amazing to see how far some of the builders went to get into the mind of the kitten, which if you’ve ever tried to do that, it’s a very playful space to be and the outcome of these models is wild,” he continues. “But like I said, these kittens go wherever they want. They are not on leashes, they just roam where they want to. It is true chaos in a wonderful way on the set.”

And with the kittens being kittens, no one—be it host Will Arnett or Berard and his fellow judge Amy Corbett—was spared from their (adorable) antics. “[There were] moments…kittens like to go to the high point, so seeing how high they want to go and climb on us while we’re trying to talk and give advice to the builders,” Berard previews. “It’s wonderful; it’s just the best feeling in the world that you have this calm purring [creature] or this soft little lovely thing on your chest while you’re trying to create something playful for them, because you want them to have a good home so that when they’re adopted, they can just have fun.”
