Let’s talk about Monday night’s TV!

THE VOICE: Anyone else get transported back to childhood when they started talking about “My Immortal”?!

It was a mostly good episode, with a lot of the right people going through. (There was one battle that was…not good. And I’ll never understand which ones they choose to keep intact and which ones they rush through via a quick cutdown.)

LOTERIA LOCA: I was really worried the Día de los Muertos episode was going to take a bad turn given how fast Rosie got skulls in the final round. I’m really glad she opted to take the $58k, because that’s still life-changing money.

THE IRRATIONAL: I love that there is no real way to expect what an episode will bring. Yeah, it’s a crime procedural, in theory, but this is the first time we had any major time in a courtroom—and they utilized it well.

I alluded to this on social media, but the scene when Alec and Kylie were stopped by the cops was one of the best done of the season so far. It’s terrible, realistic, and I hate that Alec and Kylie were targeted that way, but the show did a brilliant job of making us feel the tension, while also having Alec de-escalate things. (But not in a way that was cheesy or unrealistic.)

I liked Alec and Dustin facing off, and I do hope they bring him back at some point. (Either this season or next.)

Also, justice for Marisa, who cannot catch a break with her personal life. Yeah, it’s messy dating a colleague and clearly no one can keep a secret, but…
