Comments Off on Steve Almighty on NBC.com

It’s Steve Carell 24/7 over at NBC’s DotComedy.com. To get us psyched up for the premiere of EVAN ALMIGHTY DotComedy has launched Steve Almighty, a section of their site featuring a new Steve Carell clip every day thru the June 22nd premiere of “Evan Almighty”. Check out classic Steve Carell moments from “The Office, “Saturday Night Live”, “The 40-Year Old Virgin”, Steve’s hilarious Golden Globes acceptance speech, talk show appearances, and even Steve’s most dramatic role as Gary from Ace & Gary: The Ambiguously Gay Duo among others.

Check out the clips below.

I got an email from NBC letting me know of some of the future clips that are going to be added, and it’s all good stuff. Enjoy!

Ricky Gervais & Steve Carell at the Emmys

September 21, 2008 by

The best part of the Emmys was definitely the Ricky Gervias/Steve Carell bit.  Brilliant!

“I don’t think that is actually the original Emmy, I think that’s a shoddy remake.” –

“I sat through Evan Almighty. Give me my Emmy.”

Steve Carell Back on The Daily Show

June 18, 2007 by

Steve Carell Ex-Daily Show Correspondent, Steve Carell, will be making a return to The Daily Show with Jon Stewart tonight, but just as a guest to promote his new movie “Evan Almighty”. You think maybe he could slip in a Produce Pete segment, or run over to The Colbert Report and give us a little Even Stephven…just for old times sake?

This is definitely worth setting the TiVo for. I think the last time Steve was on The Daily Show was to promote “The 40-Year-Old Virigin” and it was frakkin’ hysterical. Check out his appearance here. I would show you the clip but Comedy Central took it down (damn you copyright laws!). Make sure you tune in tonight at 11pm on Comedy Central to watch.

For those of you who need a laugh, here is my favorite Daily Show sketch of all time*. Steve Carell & Stephen Colbert – Responsible Drinking.

* A close second was Mo Rocca fighting the polka guy that hated Garfield, but I can’t find that online anywhere!

Thanks to OfficeTally.com for the link to the Comedy Central clip.

Steve Carell (The Office) and Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls) share the big screen in the upcoming movie “Evan Almighty” which opens on June 22nd. Check out this very funny video of Steve and Lauren interviewing each other for the Moviefone show “Unscripted”.

…and Office/Gilmore Girls fans are you ready for Lauren to be back on TV?  Perhaps on THE OFFICE? Oh a girl can only dream.

For new funny clips of Steve Carell every day until June 22nd, check out Steve Almighty on DotComedy. And if you haven’t entered GMMR’s Steve Almighty sweepstakes so it now since it’s end

Thanks to Becky for sending this along.

GMMR First Look: “Evan Almighty” Trailer

Evan Almighty TrailerYeah, I know GMMR is a TV site, but I’ve decided to make a rule that if there is a movie coming out that stars people from TV then I can talk about it. Isn’t that a good rule. Yes, I thought so.

And there is no better time for this new rule since the trailer for Evan Almighty has just been released. Lucky for us, this movie stars two, count ’em two of our favorite TV peeps. Steve Carell (The Office) and Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls). The two play a married couple dealing with the fallout after God (Morgan Freeman) contacts Congressman Evan Baxter (Carell) and tells him to build an ark in preparation for a great flood.

The movie is set for a Summer release, but you can watch the trailer NOW.

The Big Winners…
So it’s OFFICE Thursday. What to do, what to do. First let me say that I was SO impressed with how many of you got the correct answers to last week’s mini-Office Olympics. Some of those questions were tough. I listed all the names of the winners in a hat and Heather B of San Diego, CA was the big winner. Heather chose a Flonkerton hoodie from the GMMR store. And in other contest news, I am happy to announce that Laura R. was are big winner in the GMMR/Steve Almighty giveaway. Laura will receive S1 & S2 of THE OFFICE on DVD as well as The 40 Year-Old Virgin.

Krasinski, Bell, Fischer, Helms & More Make Hot Comedy List

Premiere.com just listed its 20 Hottest New Faces in Comedy list and a few of our TV favorites made the list. So just which TV stars are taking over the best comedy roles on the big screen?

Ed HelmsEd Helms
Age: 33
Comedy Credentials: The Daily Show, The Office
What’s So Funny? Knocked Up director and all-around comedy kingmaker Judd Apatow told Variety that Helms is a national treasure, even though “the nation does not know it yet,” when announcing that Helms will write and star in the buddy comedy A Whole New Hugh for Universal. So who are we to disagree? Helms has followed in the footsteps of his fellow Daily Show alum Steve Carell to both The Office on TV and Evan Almighty on the big screen, but will strike out on his own next year with supporting turns in Eddie Murphy’s Starship Dave and a cameo in Walk Hard.

Will ArnettWill Arnett
Age: 37
Comedy Credentials: Arrested Development, Blades of Glory
What’s So Funny? Ever since playing the incompetent magician Gob (pronounced Jobe) on Arrested Development, Arnett has turned the lovable jerk into an art form as the white-collar criminal Nelson Biederman IV in Let’s Go to Prison and the evil ice skater Stranz Van Waldenberg in Blades of Glory. Arnett isn’t going soft any time soon, as his turn as a sleazy boyfriend in Hot Rod attests, but the actor is getting a chance to show his more sensitive side — sort of — in the pregnancy comedy The Brothers Solomon, before re-teaming with Will Ferrell in the basketball comedy Semi-Pro.

Kristen BellKristen Bell
Age: 27
Comedy Credentials: Veronica Mars, Reefer Madness
What’s So Funny? Television’s loss is cinema’s gain since Veronica Mars‘s bubbly alter ego is making her move to the big screen — though it won’t be a real stretch. In the Judd Apatow–produced Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Bell is a TV star who ditches her boyfriend only to end up running into him with her new boyfriend in Hawaii. She’ll also play to her Veronica Mars fanbase as a geeky gal-Friday in the upcoming Fanboys. Bell’s first Hollywood horror film may not have had a Pulse, but then the acid-tongued actress came out swinging and singing in the subversive musical Reefer Madness. Expect big things from the 5’1″ star.

Jenna FischerJenna Fischer
Age: 33
Comedy Credentials: Blades of Glory, Lollilove
What’s So Funny? The Office star passed the big-screen test in March when she successfully translated the winsomeness of her lowly TV secretary Pam Beesley to a shy henchwoman in Blades of Glory. But Hollywood has bigger plans for Fischer: The actress is already committed to The Brothers Solomon, the faux rockumentary Walk Hard, and a role in Quebec, a film about two grocery-store middle managers fighting over a promotion. And future job prospects shouldn’t be a concern for Fischer; her directorial debut, Lollilove, about a Hollywood housewife’s attempts at charity, is a comic gem.

John Krasinski
Age: 31 (nope)
Comedy Credentials: The Office
What’s So Funny? Krasinski interned at Late Night With Conan O’Brien before becoming primetime TV’s sexiest everyguy on The Office, so his comedy cred isn’t in question. The unassuming star who‘s made an art of raising eyebrows as Jim on The Office will go highbrow later this year with the George Clooney–directed romantic comedy Leatherheads and his own directorial debut, Brief Interviews With Hideous Men, based on the amusingly anthropological short-story collection of David Foster Wallace.

Check out the others who made the list: Amy Adams, Malin Ackerman, Elizabeth Banks, Dane Cook, Anna Faris, Dan Fogler, Bill Hader, Jonah Hill, Michael Cera, Justin Long, Seth Rogan, Kristen Wiig, Andy Samberg, Joe Swanberg, Justin Theroux. (Click here to read up on each of these funny faces)

Thanks to Joanna for the tip.

THE OFFICE Thursday on Give Me My Remote

I know I said I was taking a break from OFFICE Thursday during the summer, but a girl needs her Dunder Mifflinites every once in a while. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not complaining. It’s been like Christmas this week with Steve Carell and John Krasinski ruling the talk shows. We wish Steve the best of luck with the premiere of “Evan Almighty” this weekend, and of course we’ll be talking about “License to Wed” more as it gets closer to it’s launch on July 3rd.

So as for OFFICE Thursday at Give Me My Remote, I thought I would shake things up a bit this week and have a little fun with y’all. How about some party games? First some news and then some fun. Let’s get to it.

THE OFFICE Marathon Tonight…
The OfficeCasino Night (Supersized), Branch Closing, The Merger
Steve Carell is hosting tonight’s Office Marathon and showing some clips of his new movie “Evan Almighty”. I’m not sure if you’ve heard about it or not. He doesn’t seem to be doing any press for it…weird. On tonight’s episodes we get to see Jim confess his love for Pam, Toby daydreaming of surfing in Costa Rica, the first meeting of Andy and Dwight. Not a day day.

Krasinski’s Still At It (TWSS)…
Catch John this afternoon on TRL and later tonight on Conan. He still has a few more talk shows to go. For more of John’s upcoming appearances, click here. Mr. Krasinski – You’ve been running around like a crazy person between NYC and LA. Don’t you think you could come home to Newton…just for a quick visit?! Spend a few days with the fam, and um, me? You did tell me you’d be home some time this summer. Well it’s the summer. We’ll have a few beers, a BBQ, listen to some Death Cab…it will be fun.

Fandomicity…
FandomicityI’m not sure there are ANY fans like OFFICE fans. You must, must, must take the time to watch FANDOMICITY, a mockumentary about the The Office and the fans who love it. It was created by the brilliant Maggie aka Seat18b. It’s so fantastic. I hope that everyone involved with the show has taken the time to watch it and feel the love from their fans. (Click here to watch Fandomicity)

Happy Birthday Tanster. Sorry your party’s so lame…
tanster.jpgYes today is the birthday of Tanster who as you all know runs OfficeTally.com – the site to go to for all your Office news. I have been lucky enough to get to know Tanster over the past year or so and she’s a not only a great gal but one of the most dedicated Office fans around. Happy Birthday Tanster!! We’ll always have Van Nuys…

What are we doing? What’s the game? I want in…
FlonkertonI thought we could have a little fun this week and play our own version of The Office Olympics. Sadly we can’t play Flonkerton, but hopefully you’ll have a little fun with these games. The answers will be revealed tomorrow and the winner gets to choose an item from the GMMR Store. This is on the honor system, so no cheating (please).

GAME #1:The Office Audio MixMatch
Listen to these clips and name the episodes from which the lines were taken. (1) point for each episode you correctly identify. It’s not as easy as you think!! A special thanks to the fabulous What’s the Scuttlebutt from the audio clips.

The Office Thursday on Give Me My Remote

I’m going to be fast with today’s The Office Thursday. Well, not too fast. Not like wham bam thank you ma’am. But I do say thank you ma’am. But um…not like wham bam. Not that there’s anything wrong with wham bam…not if it’s consensual. I just have a full day of selling paper and pulling pranks that just must get done before The Office is on tonight. So let’s get to it, shall we?

UPDATE: I almost forgot…Angela Kinsey will be a guest on Late Night with David Letterman tomorrow night!! Make sure to set your TiVos. Best of luck to you Angela!!

LIVE Office Chat TONIGHT…

The Office ChatIt was like old times watching last week’s show with my peeps over at BuddyTV. We had some newbies join us and I hope that they’ll be back this week. If you’ve never watched The Office with us in the LIVE chat, come on in tonight! We’re going to get started around 8pm (EST). Click here to set a reminder for the Office chat.

Tonight on The Office…“Safety Training” (8:30/7:30c on NBC)
The Office: Safety TrainingFor safety-training day at Dunder Mifflin, Michael and Dwight attempt to expose all workplace dangers to the staff. Meanwhile, Andy (Ed Helms) returns to the office ranks after his anger-management training.

Yahoo!TV has 2 clips up for tonight’s show (view clips)

From the desk of Meredith Palmer…
Kate Flannery (Meredith Palmer) on The OfficeThis week Meredith is drunk again. Someone gets this woman to AA quick. Actually let’s hold off on that and see if we can’t get any spoilers out of her first. She already told that Jim and Pam don’t get together (well at least in this week’s episode) and that Jan has some great storylines coming up. Hey, at least that’s something. She’s got a lot more to say so make sure you check out her latest blog. (Kate’s Blog)

Rainn Wilson is a Cute Daddy…
Rainn Wilson and his son Walter Check out this ADORABLE photo of Rainn Wilson and his 2 1/2 year old son, Walter, from InStyle Magazine. Too cute for words. I can’t get over how different Rainn looks when he’s not sporting Dwight hair or Dwight’s glasses. I just want to squash both of them (that’s a good thing in case you were confused). Thanks to Celebrity Baby Blog for the photo.
