A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN: Prime Video Releases New Trailer for Upcoming Series Adaptation

Prime Video has released a trailer for A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN, a new series inspired by Penny Marshall’s 1992 film.

According to the streamer, the new series “evokes the joyful spirit of Penny Marshall’s beloved classic, while widening the lens to tell the story of an entire generation of women who dreamed of playing professional baseball, both in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League and outside of it. The show follows Carson (Abbi Jacobson) and Max (Chanté Adams) and a new ensemble of sharp and hilarious characters as they carve their paths toward the field, along the way finding their teams and themselves.”

A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN: Prime Video Releases New Teaser, Sets August Debut

Prime Video’s version of A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN will debut on Friday, August 12, the streamer announced. All eight episodes will drop at once.

According to Prime Video, the new series “evokes the joyful spirit of Penny Marshall’s beloved classic, while widening the lens to tell the story of an entire generation of women who dreamed of playing professional baseball. The show takes a deeper look at race and sexuality, following the journey of a whole new ensemble of characters as they carve their own paths towards the field, both in the league and outside of it.”
