Valentine’s Gifts for my Favorite TV Couples

February 14, 2007 by

Ah Valentine’s Day. Yes, the hallmark holiday that comes around every year to remind me that I’m single…you now, just in case I forgot. While I’m waiting for my dozen long stem roses from John Krasinski to arrive, I thought maybe I could send out some Valentine’s Day wishes to my favorite TV couples. Flowers? Bleh. Candy? Who wants the calories? Here’s the gifts I would but for my favorite TV twosomes.

Jim and PamJim and Pam
A room with a lock
Yeah, I couldn’t think of a gift you two needed more than to be locked in a room together so you can finally just TALK. Seems the only thing keeping you apart is your inability to actually have an honest conversation with each other. You both assume you know what the other is thinking and feeling all the time, but guess what…you are always wrong. So on this Valentine’s Day, I’d like to give you a place where you can just talk it out. I’m the one that gets to pick the place for this much needed convo. If it was left up to the both of you you’d probably end up in the PLOD (Parking Lot of Doom). So use the room and get it all worked out. Once you are done talking, please feel free to use the room for whatever purposes you seems fit. And no worries, there’s a key. Karen or Roy won’t be interrupting.

Michael and Sara
Michael and SaraA couples spa day
The Dr and the con have been through a lot over the past few months. Running from the law, and those out to kill them can be stressful. And I know Sara got a semi-bath a few weeks back when Kellerman tried drown her in the bathtub, but both she and Michael could use a hot, steamy shower. A nice day at the spa spent relaxing in a mud bath or getting a massage is just what Michael and Sara need this Valentine’s Day.

Logan and Veronica
Logan and VeronicaA secluded island
Yes buying an island might be a tad bit extravagant for a Valentine’s Day gift, but what’s money when it comes to true LoVe. Why an island? Well it’s seems that despite how much these two love each other, the world around them is always keeping them apart. On a deserted island there’s no murders to solve and no other women for Logan to inevitably screw (up with).

Ryan and Taylor & Seth and Summer
Seth and Summer Ryan and TaylorA duplex Ok a duplex might not be the standard of living that you four are accustomed too, but hey I just emptied my wallet buying an island for Veronica and Logan. My days of watching your love grow are numbered, and soon I won’t be able to keep up with your love life and antics. But knowing that the four of you are all still together living in a duplex and raising your babies together brings me such joy. Oh and if you ever are hard up for cash, you could always install cameras in your duplex and make a reality show…I would SO watch.

Kara and Lee
Kara and LeeA Boxing Ring
From what I’ve seen, beating the crap out of each other seems to be the only way for the two of you to really communicate how you feel. So on this valentine’s Day I’m sending you your very own boxing ring. Feeling frustrated? Work it out on the mat. It’s a win -win…you get a full work out AND it counts as crazy foreplay.

My favorite newbie couples
Unfortunately, Moonlighting bombed after Maddie and Dave finally got it together so the chances of you and your true TV love living happily ever after are slim to none. But that doesn’t mean we won’t be pulling for ya. So for you newbie loves, learn from the mistakes of your elders above and maybe, just maybe you can make it.

Betty and Henry Matt and Julie CAllie and George Tom and Lucy

Who are your favorite TV couples (past and present) and what do you think would be the PERFECT Valentine’s Day gift for them.ย  Hey, I’m lonely this V-Day…comments are the only love I’m going to be getting (all together now…awwww)

    Hey GMMR, Happy Valentine’s Day!
Great idea about the room with a lock for JAM!
Oh, and hope jkras reads your website … and actually does send you that dozen red roses!!

  2. MozartsFriend on February 14th, 2007 12:37 pm

I think Dwight and Angela might be climbing the ranks in my “favorite TV couples” list! Oh, and I tried to send you this earlier, but I’m not sure that it actually worked (my internet has been all wonky)–http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBM1q0VHN6c

  3. Jo on February 14th, 2007 12:49 pm

  4. Jenny on February 14th, 2007 1:05 pm

Happy Valentine’s Day GMMR! Us single gals got to stick together! Loved your idea for JAM….can’t wait for the big Thursday shows!! ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. TheNextKristin on February 14th, 2007 1:18 pm

Happy V-Day!!! If J-Kras is busy on-set, you can always choose a replacement Valentine – like your TiVo, because seriously, who loves you more than something whose only purpose is to record two shows at a time for you?

  6. Team Pam A.K.A Stamford Worker on February 14th, 2007 1:27 pm

But it thought JKras was going to send ME the roses! ๐Ÿ˜‰ haha just kidding. Love the room with a lock idea.

  7. Amy on February 14th, 2007 1:29 pm

Happy Valentine’s Day, GMMR! From one single gal to another. JAM’s gift is perfect! I would give Mulder and Scully an engraved PLAM “M+S tru luv 4evr” — and possibly the address of the couple who adopted William so they could visit. He is past the terrible twos by now…

  8. coloradokila on February 14th, 2007 1:53 pm

    This was fabulous GMMR.
Happy Day – I usually call it black “Wednesday” – but I am trying not to be so cynical.

  9. Christy on February 14th, 2007 2:34 pm

I would give Michael and Jan the gift of silence, so he can’t say anything to screw it up, and I would give Jim and Karen the gift of Truth, so they can see that Jim really loves Pam.
    Thanks for a fun blog!

  10. Lizzie on February 14th, 2007 3:04 pm

Love this post! I love Pam and Jim. My other favorite TV couples are Monica and Chandler (of Friends), Sydney and Vaughn (of Alias) and Luke and Lorelai (of Gilmore Girls). I think Luke and Lorelai could use the same gift as Pam and Jim- and chance to talk everything out!
    Have a great Valentine’s Day!

  11. Kristi on February 14th, 2007 3:07 pm

aww I like all the gifts you’ve chosen ๐Ÿ™‚

Can I give Beaver back his life so he and Mac can live happily ever after sans all that murdering and suicide?

    Favorite couples through-out my tv-dom:
Corey & Topanga (Boy Meets World)
    Corey & Shawn!
    Shawn & Angela
    Max & Logan (Dark Angel)
Phil & Keely (ha, I can’t help it!)
    Zach & Kelly

  12. Kristi on February 14th, 2007 3:09 pm

hmm it cut off the bottom of my post for some reason, I wasn’t finished with my list!

Joan & Adam (Joan of Arcadia)
Luke & Grace (Joan of Arcadia)

    there, now i’m done ๐Ÿ™‚

  13. jenny on February 14th, 2007 3:58 pm

Oh, if only we could give Jam a locked room! And yes, I’m loving Lucy Davis and Nate Cordrey on S60. Too bad that show is not going to make it to season 2.

  14. HealthcareHottie on February 14th, 2007 5:32 pm

This is a fun subject for a snowy day when I’m stuck in the house becuase I can’t get my car out of the driveway.

My favorite TV couple of all time would have to be Michael & Nikita (La Femme Nikita). I would give them a day without terrorism in the world so they could concentrate on what they would really like to be doing.

Also Chris & Rita from Silk Stalkings. Seriously Kristi, I know what you mean. Can I give Chris his life back so he can be around to see his child being born. Tragic ending to that show.

Sydney & Vaughn – at least they end up together, that was nice.

I guess Jim & Pam are the only couple that are still around for me to follow – make it happen Greg Daniels! Let’s give them that locked room. Maybe there should be a blackout and they get trapped in the elevator together. Yeah, that could work.

  15. Psappy on February 14th, 2007 5:37 pm

Happy V-day GMMR! I totally agree with you about the locked closet and the desert island. Those are a must.

    4. Dwight & Angela
    5. Julie & Matt
    6. Coach Taylor & Wife

  16. Kris on February 14th, 2007 6:45 pm

Awwww, GMMR, i feel your pain! I’m a bitter woman today. Single and lonely. Moving on…

    LOVE the Jim and Pam V-Day gift! So right! They are the masters of misinterpretation and miscommunication and a nice, long talk is just the action they need, and they do need some action ^^;;

Currently, some other couples i like are Bones/Booth from Bones (obviously) and Shawn/Jules from Psych. I love House…but i don’t know who he’d go well w/. I think he should give Cuddy a try and Cameron should just stick w/ someone like Chase. Oh, and Jack Bauer needs a woman! Where the hell is Audrey?! That’s it. I’m done ๐Ÿ™‚

  17. Kris on February 14th, 2007 6:46 pm

Oh, i forgot to mention though….

My favorite tv couple ever would have to be…Jim and Dwight ๐Ÿ˜€

  18. Ray on February 14th, 2007 6:59 pm

    Bert and Ernie??

Just kidding.. how about Josh and Donna.

And did your niece get a valentine from Jim?

    etccccc

I really hope John sends you flowers! hehe

  20. Chelsea on February 14th, 2007 9:47 pm

    My couples:
    Luke/Lorelai

Michael/Sara (as of tonight, I’m all caught up on PB and all I can say is OMG!)
    Michael/Jan
    Daisy/Mason
    Nate/Brenda

    ..a bazillion more!

    Happy Valentine’s Day!

  21. Scooter McGavin on February 14th, 2007 11:50 pm

This maybe just wishful thinking, but after tonight I’m rooting for a Landry/Tyra hookup. Then that would be my favorite TV couple.

  22. Jen on February 15th, 2007 12:35 am

so I stopped watching The OC this year when Ryan was cage fighting so I have to say…. Ryan and Taylor are together?!?!?! ๐Ÿ™‚

  23. Sus on February 15th, 2007 7:45 am

I can’t believe someone mentioned Winnie and Kevin. Man, that show was awesome. When the hell are they going to release it on dvd????

My list of fave couples is just waaayyyy too long. ๐Ÿ™‚

  24. Kristi on February 15th, 2007 12:33 pm

Jen, YES!! Ryan and Taylor are together… and it’s actually pretty freakin’ perfect! We see alot more happy and playful Ryan than when he was with Marissa (BLAH! Thank God for her death :X). Ryan and Taylor are probably THE most adorable couple on the show, right up there with Sethummer.

  25. David on January 20th, 2009 8:54 pm
