GOSSIP GIRL Makes Me Happy Despite…

Too much happened on GOSSIP GIRL last night not to chat about it. Unfortunately I don’t have that luxury today. So how about a little compromise? I’ll toss out a few nuggets and then you take the ball and run with it. (Wait, was that a mixed metaphor? I don’t think it even qualifies…but I think you get my drift.)
Little J – What in God’s name is going on with that child? Crashing a charity ball with her fashion show? I was actually pulling for it to blow up in her face. I mean, how rude?! Jenny is out of control and needs to reign it in. Maybe I’m just old and crumdgeony but I think her latest stunt as a badass designer and now a runaway is just tired. Put the eyeliner away, ditch Kaitlin Cooper and pull it together.
And not to go all Amy & Seth on you, but REALLY…are we suppose to believe that the AARP attendees at the charity ball were really into Jenny’s designs? Really?! Come on now. And speaking of Miss J’s designs, did this new sense of style come as a result of the magical and mysterious eyeliner too? Just a few weeks ago she was making tasteful doily dresses for the white party in the Hamptons, and fancy (conservative) green numbers for Eleanor’s line. Now all of a sudden it’s all about ripped clothes and tulle? Eh, I’m over her.
Nate – Here’s to hoping he finds something interesting to do besides make out with girls a lot less pretty than he is (although I’m sure it’s not easy to find such a girl). And when does find something to do, please let him do it shirtless.
Vanessa – This note is to the writers rather than Ms. Vanessa herself. Writers: What’s the point?
Chuck “Look like you hooked yourself a Bass” & Blair -Ah, how I love their new dynamic. It looks their convo about cooling things off in order to keep them hot was well worth it. Their stolen glances and knowing stares are sizzling. And you just have to love how Chuck came through for his lady last night.
Serena & Aaron – I didn’t think there could be a couple more boring than Serena & Dan, but then we met Aaron. Common denominator – Ms. Van Der Woodsen. Come on writers, give this girl something to work with. For the love of Chuck Bass this is Serena Van Der Woodsen we are talking about. I’m not saying that I want her passing out the bitch card on every corner, but give her a little naughtiness to play with.
Lily & Rufus -Just have an affair already. We’d like you better for it.
Just so I’m clear, don’t mistake any of the above snarkism for anything but pure love. I love me some GOSSIP GIRL.

As you and Dan mentioned in one of your more recent podcasts, the writers keep doing this switch on us with the characters. First it was Serena and now Jenny. I’m fine with growth and transformation of characters but can’t there be a little build up so it makes sense.
I agree on Nate being shirtless and Aaron being boring.
Chuck and Blair were hilarious last night. Any episode with scenes of them wins me over. But I agree – Aaron is boring. Serena can do so much better!
If I was Lily I woulda have slapped that child silly for pulling a stunt like that after everything, Rufus is right to be uber pissed. The nerve of that girl, your friggin 15, please remember that!!
