What Happened on THE HILLS Series Finale?

Last night, THE HILLS waved a fond farewell as the series came to an end.
The final scene captured an emotional moment as Brody and Kristin said their heartfelt, tearful goodbyes. Kristin reluctantly enters a limo, drives off and then….

…a brief montage of THE HILLers through the years… and we cut back to Brody, who is standing in the sunlight and looking woefully into the distance.
Boom! The fake background is pulled away. The camera man, director and crew start milling about on the studio lot set where THE HILLS was being produced. KCavs jumps from the limo, which never really drove anywhere, and jumps into Brody’s arms. That’s a wrap on the production of THE HILLS.
We’ve always known there have been scripted elements of reality TV, but to go as far as to imply that the entire show was fake… was interesting. Maybe in the later years, sure, but there was a certain level of authenticity when LC first moved from Laguna Beach to Los Angeles.
Bottom line, they’d have to be really good actors to pull off some of the emotionally draining stuff we saw on THE HILLS. And Heidi clearly didn’t get all that plastic surgery just to drive story.
Seems the producers thought they’d have a little fun with us and give a little wink-wink to the blurred line between real and fake they’ve been walking for some time.

Gave up the show a few years ago, but I thought the finale was brilliant (well the last 2 minutes)! And even the reunion show, or whatever it was, wasn’t so bad, but only because of the Heidi/Spencer montage to “Runaway Train” which was totally accurate. And all I can say is based on the live interviews, all these people got very generous edits.
Fake…most probably but I’m sorry, some of those tears on our beloved Canadian After Show, oops, I mean “The Hills: A Hollywood Ending” looked pretty darn real to me. C’mon, we know Audrina isn’t that good of an actress and she brushed away a few glistening droplets as she watched the montage of her and Justin Bobby (who may be dirty but is still hot!) and Holly Montag was practically bawling at the site of her pre-surgery sister…in a most genuine and loving way!!

I found myself tearing up for Holly, she really is mourning the loss of her baby sister, which has got to suck. But I laughed at Justin Bobby and Audrina. I like them both but JB is too dirty for me to find him hot (tho it seems I may be alone on that one). Still, I think it’s lovely that he’s mature enough to be nice to Audrina in public and finally admit that she’s a good girl who deserves to be treated better… All that stuff is real. Much of what went on on THE HILLS was real. Much of what went on on THE HILLS was reenacted for TV’s sake… and I think the producers decided to have a good laugh about it (and all the shit they’ve gotten for it) in the end…
i love the hills even though its ending i will still watch alll the episodes of all the sesons again
