Comments Off on ALMOST HUMAN: Minka Kelly and Lili Taylor On What Drew Them to the Series

In ALMOST HUMAN’s pilot, we get little glimpses of the supporting characters, but for the most part, understandably, the main focus is on Karl Urban’s John Kennex and Michael Ealy’s Dorian.

When I sat down with ALMOST HUMAN stars Minka Kelly (Valerie Stahl) and Lili Taylor (Sandra Maldonado), I was curious what it was about the show that drew them into committing to their roles

Check out their responses…

THE CARRIE DIARIES: AnnaSophia Robb and Amy B. Harris on Carrie’s Work and Home Struggles

Comments Off on THE CARRIE DIARIES: AnnaSophia Robb and Amy B. Harris on Carrie’s Work and Home Struggles

carrie-diaries-featured

THE CARRIE DIARIES will put Carrie in awkward positions at home and at work in tonight’s brand new episode, “Borderline,” as Carrie struggles with meeting her father’s girlfriend’s trouble-making son and a difficult “Interview” assignment.

“I think it’s interesting when people are dating who have kids, because you can really like each other, but your kids actually have to like each other, [too,]” THE CARRIE DIARIES showrunner Amy B. Harris told me earlier this week on the show’s New York set. “And that story was stimulated [because] I had been set up with someone [in the past] and it was a family thing, it was very casual, it was just, ‘If you guys like each other, great.’ And he seemed nice enough, but his kid was a total asshole, and everyone was like, ‘No, that can’t happen.’ So that’s a little bit of what we’re going to be managing: how Carrie and Dorrit are going to be getting along with this child. It’s going to be harder for them, because I do think as you’re married with kids, who you date isn’t just about you anymore, it’s about how your family is going to possibly blend. But I do think Carrie is more open to the idea of her father dating now.”

The new, maturer Carrie is also pressing to have more responsibilities at her “Interview” internship, but Harris acknowledged the path for her writing career won’t be that simple.

RAISING HOPE is finally back on Friday!

It’s been nearly eight months since we last checked in with the Chance family, but now they have a new time slot (Fridays at 9 PM), a new showrunner (RH creator Greg Garcia is now working on THE MILLERS, so his second-in-command, Mike Mariano is running the Fox comedy), and they’ll be airing back-to-back episodes for the rest of the calendar year.

Even better? There is some great stuff in store for RAISING HOPE fans this season.

I spoke with Mariano about the show finally premiering, what fans can expect to come, the challenges of being a showrunner, and more…

Comments Off on PARKS AND RECREATION: Michael Schur and Adam Scott on Leslie’s Potential Recall

PARKS AND RECREATION is finally back on our televisions tonight (look, any hiatus is too long in my book), and we’re getting rewarded with back-to-back episodes.

And since the comedy has been off the air for a few weeks, that also means the show is just getting around to celebrating Halloween. Whoops? Unfortunately for our Pawnee favorites, the holiday also brings the potential Knope recall, so…you’re not going to want to miss what the show has in store.

Recently, PARKS AND REC boss Michael Schur and series star Adam Scott (Ben) gave reporters a little tease of what to expect…

BONES has bounced all over the Fox schedule during its nine seasons on Fox, but this week, the show will go somewhere it has never gone before: airing original episodes on Friday nights.

Some fans are worried about the move. It’s an understandable concern whenever a show changes nights. However, BONES recapping rock star Sarah Curtis and I are actually feeling…pretty positive about the move. (I promise.)

Curious as to why we’re OK with the shift? Take a look at what we had to say about BONES finally making the move to Fridays…

almost-human-featured-2

Fox’s new drama, ALMOST HUMAN, is being billed as a futuristic buddy-cop show — and certainly the dynamic between Karl Urban’s John Kennex and Michael Ealy’s Dorian (an android) is a key part of the series — but there are also quite a few other talented people and intriguing relationships to get invested in.

Last month, reporters hit up the Vancouver set of ALMOST HUMAN where the cast gave a bit of a rundown of what viewers can expect from the various pairings…

(And yes, I am SUPER excited about this.)
