5. Doctor Who
This season of DOCTOR WHO got off to an uneven start, as the writers looked for ways to define the new Doctor, but Peter Capaldi was brilliant from his first line, and his chemistry with Jenna Coleman was perfect. While the Doctor found himself, Clara stepped up to run the show; I never thought I’d love her as much as I do now, but she became the companion the Doctor needed, and by the end of the season, the Twelfth Doctor proved to be worth the wait. He’s the kind of man who can make a real difference precisely because he doesn’t think he’s anything special on his own. It’s been a while since DOCTOR WHO has felt so personal.
