Let’s talk about Sunday night’s TV!

AMERICAN IDOL: Well, uh, I have questions about how this now-top 21 is going to work. The producers had absolutely zero idea how much the world would change by the time the episodes aired, but how the heck do they move forward from here? Do they try and finish the season out with at-home performances? Do super stripped down performances that were pre-taped?

ZOEY’S EXTRAORDINARY PLAYLIST: Well, “Sound of Silence” broke my heart in the best possible way. And the deep Kelly Clarkson cut with “The Trouble With Love Is”? Heck yes.

But, man, the ASL rendition of “Fight Song” will almost certainly be in my top 3 performances of the season. Just fantastic and incredibly moving.

What I don’t really get is Max being so hurt at Zoey wanting him to take the new job. Realistically, if they were to pursue a relationship, wouldn’t it be better if she wasn’t his boss?

WESTWORLD: Well, this was my favorite episode of the season thus far. It’s not easy, but I appreciate they were able to bring in so many of the storylines in one episode–versus have us wait and dole out bigger portions of the individual stories per hour—and we got the truly twisted reveal that Dolores has basically made an army of herself.

All of the real-world evidence says otherwise, but man, everything about this feels like a final season. William being locked up and that Dolores speech felt like something near the end of an arc.

THE ROOKIE: Wait, but I want to know why that man wanted to file a restraining order on his cat.

They managed to fit a lot into the episode. An engagement, an IDOL crossover, Nolan being kidnapped, Harper reuniting (kind of) with her family, Chen befriending (and then being betrayed) by a reporter. It was a good episode, but a lot.
