Let’s talk about Monday night’s TV!

THE REPUBLIC OF SARAH: Wow, I expected that the court case against Sarah would drag out throughout the first season. I kind of love they got it out of the way early and weren’t afraid to jump ahead in time.

I did love that the show didn’t hesitate to make things messy as hell for Sarah: she immediately had to make a deal with the devil (her brother) which would impact one of her closest friends (Grover). And even though it logically makes sense that Sarah sacrifice two homes to save the town, I also appreciate and respect Grover didn’t just roll over and pretend it was fine. He was hurt, she was upending his life, and the episode left things messy. (And…Corinne’s kid is absolutely Danny’s, right? So my question is whether she lied to Sarah or Sarah is lying for her. I’m betting the latter right now.)

With the town now essentially being quarantined, I’m curious what this will impact. Does this mean no deliveries (AKA food and meds), no mail, having to figure out a passport system, etc.?

(Anyone else craving poutine after watching the episode? Just me?)

I was also pleasantly surprised that they jumped ahead past the trial. I like that things are messy. I hope they keep making it hard for her because that is more realistic.
