Let’s talk about Sunday night’s TV!

THE SIMPSONS: I loved how nostalgic the episode was? I clearly still love the show, but there were so many touches to older episodes—Maya, obviously; Flanders’ hot chocolate; Ruth Powers—that it brought me joy.

CELEBRITY WHEEL OF FORTUNE: How was Pat Sajak so calm about Melissa Joan Hart winning the million bucks? It’s not like it’s a regular occurrence! (But good for her, she was a great player.)

THE EQUALIZER: Robyn was badass and brilliant, as per usual, but Mel may have been the stealth MVP of the hour for me. I love how she didn’t back down with Bishop and also is just so fun with Harry.

THE GREAT NORTH: I know she’s a fictional character, but I want to have a horror movie club with Honeybee, because I feel like she and I would have similar reactions to some of these films.

I do love that they chose to focus a multi-story episode on a character like Delmer. It would be so easy to focus it on one of the core people, but enriching the supporting characters is such a great move. (As was hearing the kernel of truth in all of the tall tales.)

SUPERMARKET SWEEP: Man, those sweeps were good…but the final round seem to be a bit harder. I get it, because it’s guaranteed money, but still. I hope people get to win it all.

FAMILY GUY: Oh, Stewie, so trusting. Of course his foe was going to (at least temporarily) stab him in the back. (And of course Peter is obsessed with the ’80s, but it was fun to see him squirm when confronted with it—and try out new eras.)

SEAL TEAM: Okay, yes, very worried about Jason. That scene where he was trying to remember what was in his fridge?! David Boreanaz’ performance broke my heart.

I’m so glad Ray told the team about his PTS, both because they need to know, and hopefully this will bring him some peace. Keeping a secret that big from people whose lives are in your hand (and vice versa) isn’t great. And he is actively trying to work on it, which has to count for something with Bravo.

Also: How soon is too soon to worry about Stella’s pregnancy? (I’m always slightly worried on drama shows, but a drama show where another character also just had a baby? WORRIED, in all caps.)

[For more on the episode, here’s what EP Spencer Hudnut had to say.]

THE ROOKIE: Okay, but a Russian safe house is kind of crazy??

I’m glad Nolan is looking to make a difference in the force in a new way. As union rep, he could enforce change on a level that could have widespread reach, and I am curious to see if the LAPD goes with the familiar (sorry, Smitty) or actual, possible reform.

(Also worried about Wes, this won’t end well.)
