THE EQUALIZER, LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE, THE ROOKIE

“Aftermath” – Just as McCall considers ending her work as The Equalizer, she’s pulled back in when she takes on Detective Marcus Dante as a new client who needs her help to find an untraceable group of bank robbers, on the second season premiere of THE EQUALIZER, Sunday, Oct. 10 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+.

Let’s talk about Sunday night’s TV!

CELEBRITY WHEEL OF FORTUNE: Oh my God, I’m so sorry to Donny Osmond, but I laughed ridiculously hard at him misspeaking and messing up BRAINS when saying the answer out loud. (For those who didn’t watch, he said “BRAIN,” which is not an accepted answer.)

Also, Amber Riley was so, so, so good at this game. Her getting “Bowl of Fruit” with the few letters she had on the board was crazy-impressive.

THE SIMPSONS: I wish I loved this “Treehouse” a little more, but it was a solid enough block. (I actually liked the last segment the best?)

THE EQUALIZER: The show has played with Robyn and Dante’s dynamic for a bit, and I’m curious how this time might change things. Will this instance be enough for him to essentially be on her side? If that sticks, so much of Robyn’s external pressures have changed: her daughter knows the truth and Dante won’t be an obstacle. I’d be curious to see how they navigate giving her new speed bumps, and how the approach might change if they aren’t quite as close.

LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE: I appreciate how the show expanded without losing the core of the show. It felt like the show I watched as a kid, but…outside.

That being said, I’m actually shocked the winning team won the literal minimum amount? You’d think they would have started the series off with at least someone grabbing the prize, even if they didn’t make it out of the temple.

THE GREAT NORTH: It was actually brilliant to pair the Alaskan darkness with a spooky tale? It’s hard to have truly unique Halloween episodes, but what a great start of what is hopefully a new tradition for the show.

SUPERMARKET SWEEP: Leslie Jones is also entirely right: WHY ARE YOU RUNNING AROUND WITH AN EMPTY CART IF YOU’RE SEARCHING FOR AN ITEM?? At least shove a thing or two inside???

BOB’S BURGERS: Man, Linda is so much nicer to Gail than she should be.

FAMILY GUY: It’s honestly crazy Quagmire has never used Brian before as date bait? (At least that I can remember?!)

THE ROOKIE: I’m really, really liking Thorsen so far. I don’t know if he’ll be sticking around, but his dynamic with Nyla has been lovely and good for them both; I would like it if he sticks around.

Uh, Wesley, maybe it’s time to tell Angela the truth? Your kid was threatened…

SEAL TEAM: I’m worried about Ray. I’m worried about Jason. I’m just worried. I’m fascinated by the mission to North Korea, but goodness, this would have been bad enough just having them undertake this job while a fully cohesive unit. But now? Yikes.
