THE SIMPSONS, CELEBRITY WHEEL OF FORTUNE, THE ROOKIE

CELEBRITY WHEEL OF FORTUNE – “Kristen Schaal, Kevin McKidd and Ron Funches” – Hosted by pop-culture legends Pat Sajak and Vanna White, “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” takes a star-studded spin on America’s Game® by welcoming celebrities to spin the world’s most famous Wheel and solve puzzles for a chance to win more than $1 million. All the money won by the celebrity contestants will go to a charity of their choice, SUNDAY, OCT. 2 (9:00-10:00 p.m. EDT), on ABC. (ABC/Christopher Willard)

Let’s talk about Sunday night’s TV!

THE SIMPSONS: Absolutely nothing makes more sense than Marge becoming obsessed with her Pelaton-like instructor.

(Okay, but, seriously, that jury Lisa was on was an absolutely cursed mish-mosh of people. Burns, Fat Tony, and Cat Lady?! Good luck on getting them to agree on literally anything.)

THE EQUALIZER: Never, ever count Robyn McCall out. (I’m glad that deep-fake won’t come back to bite her/the team in the butt, though, because I was worried it would linger.)

I loved the premiere, and one of the things I loved the most was the potential for the entire season. With the entire team now aware of each other, the story potential feels absolutely freaking endless.

[For more on the season 3 opener, co-showrunner Joseph C. Wilson broke down the hour, and previewed what’s to come.]

THE GREAT NORTH: Literally laughed out loud at Wolf thinking “George R. R. Martin” was pronounced “George Arrrgh Martin.” (His logic, kind of, made sense! But it came out of nowhere, unlike his Hugh and Cillian confusion.) But this was the perfect first fight for Wolf and Honeybee, zero notes.

I know this probably is entirely the wrong message, but Disaster Day looks like it could be…fun?! (Minus the macaroni salad food poisoning.)

BOB’S BURGERS: Oh, that trip was never going to go well. Even if the kids had been okay without power (or the cabin had power), or if it was safe to be outside…there was no room for a family of five in that teeny tiny cabin. But, look, I don’t blame the kids for sneaking a portable TV with them—I absolutely would have done the same.

CELEBRITY WHEEL OF FORTUNE: Much like no answer will top what Snoop did in the season premiere, I don’t think any trio will be more overjoyed to be a part of the show than Kristen Schaal, Kevin McKidd, and Ron Funches. Also: Justice for Kristen, “Jigsaw Puzzle” is a hard final round. Who is going to be picking J, W, or Z?!

FAMILY GUY: I was waiting for Netflix or Disney+ to save the family, but it being Amazon/Prime Video…probably terrifyingly closer to the truth. (As Peter was trying to check out, before he discovered the huge bill he had accumulated, I had wondered if he’d just steal the tapes…because, otherwise, was he going to drive back to return them? Or rent a hotel nearby to watch on a VCR?!)

THE ROOKIE: Nyla. F—ing. Harper.

Look, when Alexi Hawley said the birth experience was “dynamic,” I figured there would be drama. But even as the episode unfolded, I expected there would be an element of a twist—it wasn’t really a dead body the neighbors were putting in the car, they weren’t as evil as they appeared, etc. NOPE. It was all of that, plus, she literally gave birth solo and while holding the perp neighbor at gunpoint. Sorry, there is zero way the show will ever be able to top this, birth-wise.

I really enjoyed the real of the episode, too, but…I’m sorry, Nyla stole the freaking hour. Major props to Mekia Cox.
