NEW AMSTERDAM: Jocko Sims Previews the Hospital’s Deadly Superbug in the Midseason Finale

The NEW AMSTERDAM midseason finale finds the doctors dealing with two potentially life-changing instances at once: Max (Ryan Eggold) and Helen (Freema Agyeman) are on the verge of leaving and a deadly superbug is spreading through the hospital.

“Max and Helen are literally in the cab, heading to the airport, when this bug hits the hospital and our patients [are] dropping like flies,” Jocko Sims, who plays Dr. Reynolds, previews in the video below. “I think nine patients initially [die]…[and] we don’t have Veronica, either. She’s still in Chicago. So somebody has to step up, in the cast of characters. And someone does.”

For Reynolds, he also has his own personal issues going on amidst the bigger drama: In wake of the hospital shakeup, his girlfriend, Lyn Malvo (Frances Turner), has pulled away.

“Reynolds is concerned that Malvo’s not even speaking to him,” he teases. “It seems to have made things much more complicated.”
