AMERICAN IDOL: ABC Touts Milestone 20th Season in New Sizzle Reel

ABC is leaning into AMERICAN IDOL’s history in the new sizzle reel for the reality competition’s 20th season.

In addition to paying homage to prior IDOL greats—including Kelly Clarkson, Adam Lambert, Carrie Underwood, and Jennifer Hudson—the new video also showcases judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie, along with long-time host Ryan Seacrest trying to find the new talent…

As for that new platinum ticket revealed in the sizzle, “this ticket gives them the ability to go to Hollywood week and they get to basically observe from the box seats one day. ” Perry said during the show’s Television Critics Association panel. (Three tickets were given out this season.) “They get to rest their voice, strategize, check out the competition, and select who they want to duet with.”
