Denis Leary has joined ORGANIZED CRIME’s sophomore season, a rep for the show confirms. His first episode will air March 3.

The actor, who was photographed filming earlier this week, will recur as Frank Donnelly, “a fellow member of the NYPD who engages with Detective Stabler (Christopher Meloni).”

With ORGANIZED CRIME splitting its season 2 storytelling into three distinct pods, the show has brought in a number of notable guest stars including Ron Cephas Jones, Michael Raymond-James, Dash Mihok, Lolita Davidovich, Guillermo Diaz, Mykelti Williamson, Vinnie Jones, and Robin Lord Taylor. (Jennifer Beals recently joined the drama, and will debut later this season.)

Leary recently starred in THE MOODYS, ANIMAL KINGDOM, and SEX & DRUGS & ROCK & ROLL; he’s best known for playing FDNY firefighter Tommy Gavin on RESCUE ME.

Update (February 15): Leary’s first episode is “…Wheatley is to Stabler.” According to NBC, “as a rolling blackout cripples the city, Stabler and Bell work to stay a step ahead of Wheatley. Jet and Malachi receive unlikely help. Bernadette gets caught up in Stabler’s mess.”

LAW & ORDER: ORGANIZED CRIME, Thursdays, 10/9c, NBC
