CBS has renewed its FBI franchise, ordering two seasons of FBI, FBI: INTERNATIONAL, and FBI: MOST WANTED.

“The FBIs are one of the most successful brands in the entire TV landscape and a powerful cornerstone of our #1 lineup,” said Kelly Kahl, president of CBS Entertainment in a statement. “They’ve attracted a dedicated, loyal fan base, thanks to the extraordinary vision of executive producer Dick Wolf and the talents of all three outstanding casts and creative teams. I know we and our viewers look forward to two additional seasons of engaging, heroic stories.”

“Everybody who works on these three shows is over the moon about the multi-year pickups,” said Dick Wolf, executive producer and FBI brand creator. “We are all incredibly grateful to CBS and our partners at Universal Television and CBS Studios. And I personally would like to thank the incredible casts, talented writers and dedicated producers, not to mention three crews who never missed an airdate despite the difficulties of producing full seasons during the COVID-19 pandemic.”

FBI stars Missy Peregrym, Zeeko Zaki, Jeremy Sisto, Alana De La Garza, John Boyd, and Katherine Renee Turner star. FBI: INTERNATIONAL stars Luke Kleintank, Heida Reed, Carter Redwood, Vinessa Vidotto, and Christiane Paul. FBI: MOST WANTED stars Dylan McDermott, Alexa Davalos, Roxy Sternberg, Keisha Castle-Hughes, and Miguel Gomez.

“Two seasons, right now, it means that the show has worked, and that we have the opportunity to be around for long enough to make these characters really cemented in our pop culture,” Zaki, whose OA has a big episode this week, shared with Give Me My Remote moments after the renewal news broke. “For me, getting a Middle Eastern, Arab-American protagonist character cemented into the zeitgeist of television—that would be incredible. Something that I’m definitely working towards.”

The renewal also means FBI will hit the milestone 100th episode—likely in season 5—a feat that is becoming increasingly rare for new shows.

“All of these milestones—100th episode, five season, six seasons—all just so far surpassed any expectations, any world that could I imagine,” Zaki admitted. “In the age of COVID, we totally shifted to tomorrow wasn’t promised. And getting to see that the world is allowing us to maybe make some plans and move over eggs back into the basket, it’s just really exciting. And I really think we get to merge into the next chapter of my life and our lives in the show and everything. So I’m really, really excited to be here.”

Yeah, Luke. A very worthy Bones alumn has turned into a very compelling actor. Kudos on the renewal of FBI-I.
